WHat's On Your Worktop Wednesday #630

It's a  WOYWW day, so hop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and join in! I've been turning my home inside out all week looking for a small white folded envelope with thirty pounds in it. I remember taking said envelope and putting in down while I very quickly nipped out to say hello to a doggy friend who'd come to visit. I then remember moving the envelope to.....Where? Haven't a clue! So, this week I have been going over and into everything in my crafty room to find this white envelope. I even searched the recycle bin in the kitchen...twice... hold that thought. As you can see there's not much happening on my bench this week. (John's finished card from the other week is HERE) and I'm still looking for a die cut letter 'A' that's mysteriously gone missing. Yep, I checked my magnets to see if it got suck there and no, it hadn't. I found some stamps without a home, so put them all together in a small Really Useful Box and will slowing put them back where they should be.  I bought Die Cutting Esentials magazine this week  coz I really liked the look of the dies. And some 12x12 papers from the Range. (first time in there for nearly two years!)  And there's this weeks freebie Robot before I changed his head! A week had passed and still no white envelope... hubby reminded me on Monday that it was garden waste day on Tuesday... So off I went to fetch the hedge cutters and the green garden waste bags. There was a bit off brown messy debris in the bottom of one of the bags. I shook it and then frowned... who put that in there, that's not garden waste! It was a bit of paper, half hidden... a white folded envelope... and inside, a bit damp....was thirty pounds. So it had been in the garden recycle bag all week... How?? I haven't a clue. Odd that my brain had been telling me to check the recycle bin in the kitchen though, Hmm? I promise more actual crafting next week... in the meantime, check out Stamping Ground and see what the other woywwers have been up to! Thank you for stopping by!

One last picture. This is Lola, she came for a visit over the weekend. She has a cage to sleep in, but she's rather sleep on my sofa!

Wednesday's Freebie Closed!

This is Rici the Robot. He's just had a new head and is feeling a bit wobbly, mainly because my ink pen bled into the paper, so I rubbed it out and gave him a computer square head insteadThank you for stopping by! CLOSED!

John's Birthday Card, finished At Last! + Up Date Link to freebie Papers

This is Hubby/John's Birthday card. Flowers? Gnomes? A mice? No! Well, yes but below is the back of the card, in my potting shed, which he built for me. His workshop/garage (far too small for a car to fit in!) shares a wall, this is my side of the wall  outside in the garden where the potty shed is.... and... above is inside his garage...

... where John keeps all his tools and bikes and things. The tall red tool box, with it's drawers and pull down lid, was  my inspiration for the card. So I've added, wires, gas bottles, cogs,  nuts, bolts, saws, hammers,  scissors and goggles. The card tells a story. John's spent the best part of the last eighteen months rebuilding his dad's (and Uncle's old bike) which, he rescued from a field some thirty odd years ago and stored in the little shed attached to his Office (Man Cave) where it stayed. It was covered in rust and rat poo...in the artical he wrote for a motorbike magazine he said mice, thinking they sounded far cuter than rats!

He always wanted to rebuild the bike but years passed and every time he looked at it, the task seemed an impossible one! And then we had a pandemic and lockdown happened. That became the perfect time! He took pictures of the bike's slow recovery and wrote an artical for a members only bike magazine where it was published. It was a bit like "Trevor's Broom" as so much of the bike was just rust!  But he finshed it!

John off for a day trip around The Isle of Wight.
When I first made the card it had a BIG mouse on it, but it didn't look right, then.... my Lawn Fawn order arrived, so I whipped off the big mouse and added lots of little mice from the Bubbles of Joy set and they were just perfect. I even managed to fix a thread from the rag to the little mouse's paw!

And on the other side, made it look like the little mouse was having a drink from the dripping watering can. To go with this, I've also made a bench card, which I'll add later.

This type of card is called a Chalk Board Card, although I have added lots of things around the bottom so you can't really see the legs and because it was double sided I didn't make the window box stick out. The idea came from Sam Calcott, her YouTube Tutorial is here

Well, I hope you liked it and will have a go at making one too! Hoping to add this to a few challenges later. Thank you for stopping by!

PS Forgot. Because I couldn't write inside or on the back of the card, I downloaded a freebie Bike and turned that into a pull out card that just fits inside. To download this decoupage bike and 96 freebie Debbie Moore papers go to Crafts Beautiful. You may have to sign in.

What's On YOUR WorkTop Wednesday? #629

It's Wednesday! So what's on your worktop today!?  Go and link up with Julia's Stamping Ground and show us your crafty space! I love my little Gemini mini (it arrived last week) but the plates are already bending waaaaay out of shape. Yes I know there's a mess and not much creative stuff going on (that will be shown in the next post) and I have tried to tidy, but it takes sooo long to put things away that there's never any time left to craft! There's about three- no four different die-sets all mixed up and some colouring going on here and below....

...More Happy mail arrived. ATC's from Neet and all the way from Melbourne, from Sue! Fabulous, thank you! I've still got one (rabbit) spare, I've sent all mine off but some still seem to be missing, so let me know if yours hasn't arrived yet. Then, the next day more happy mail arrived...

...this amazing Silverwolf tribute/keepsake from  Debbie (Tattered Rocks)! (You forgot to send me your addy Debbie! Please send! Short post from me today as I'm feeding cats and gardens and watering fish at three different places for the next few weeks (and Lola the little tiny dog is coming over this week too) and Boudie Boo and Jess called in to say hello! (dogs I used to look after) and, I'm waaaay behind with card making! (and there's a pile on ironing in the corner, but we won't mention that!...the ironing board has the bigshot plus on it anyway...poor thing's legs are bowing, BigShots are really heavy!)  Crash!!! Oh no, just popped back to add links and a shelf has just fallen down! Luckily it's a bottom one, so not too bad! (oh, is that where that stamp set got to!!) So!! That's it for now (freebie will be late! Sorry.... it's either going to be a weird dragon or an odd looking donkey... or something else! Now, nip over to Stamping Ground and join in! Catch you all later, thank you for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Lady Pam! With a Fold Back Pop-up card!

It may not appear that I'm crafting, but by the state of my crafty room, you'd know I'd been very busy, if not productive! We had two birthdays over last weekend, so of course I made two cards, I still haven't finished hubby's to the way I want it yet. It was to go with the bench card i made him...I'll post them later!  Anyway, here's the card I made for Lady Pam's 90th birthday. I used the Butterfly Kisses bundle, (that included papers, butterflies, buttons gems, pegs, resin flowers, ribbons, die cuts, stickers...you name it, it was there! plus a load of other accessories that I bought a few weeks back from Craft?thingy??? It used to be Dovecraft/Trimcraft, I'll change that bit later! so I was really spoilt for choice!

I had to lie the card down to show off the pop out bit where I'd added '90'  I did all the folding and cutting first. It was to make a 7x5 card only I was listening to Sam and scored to make a 5x5 card... and missed the correction. I thought it a bit odd! and it took me a few moments to realise I wasn't going to fit backing papers for a 7x5 card onto a 5x5 one!  (It's corrected on You Tube now)  Sam embossed some pretty coloured card for the front, but I rather liked the purple mirror card instead.
Happy Birthday, and PAM diecuts are from The Works
This is the back, using some more Butterfly kisses papers. The 'Have a Lovely Day' die cut was from the Butterfly Kisses bundle and a couple more pictures of the front. I couldn't quite get the lighting right.

Deciding what to make was the hardest as I've been watching Sam Calcott for ages now and every card I see, I want to make! (except the hand bags....I'm not into hand bags, but the boxes are very useful!)

I finished off, covering the rose in front with Glossy Accents and a few more sequin butterflies inside, added later and not seen here.

Go HERE  for the 'Fold Back Pop-Up Card' and watch Sam with her Nan making this card! It is Very easy!  #foldbackpopupcard #zfoldpopupcards #funfoldcards Thanks for stopping by! Hope to later enter some...
