Well, maybe not all of them at once, but we definitely want to see something buggy, birdy and the odd butterfly too! Yes it's time (I know I'm late...blame blogger, or maybae I didn't press the right button!) once more for another Quirky Crafts Challenge.
This fortnight it's Gemma's turn to set the challenge and choose the theme, it's her first once so please come over and join in!! All Gemma wants to see on your creations is...

The 3 B's BUGS /BUTTERFLIES /AND BIRDS!!
Here's my make...I have (very cleverly for me!) managed to use all three! Ladybird papers for the bugs, which were freebies ages ago from scrapbook magazine (most likely via Quick Cards or Simply Easy Crafty mags) It's called 'The Spring Fever Collection', I've also added a butterfly sticker (also a freebie from a magazine) and some butterfly ribbon from my local not very crafty craft shop, and underneath it, there's also some sparkly purple ribbon too, plus this lovely little Owl for our sponsors Limited Runs! So I've covered it all!
This week Quirky Craft's is not only sponsored by Limited Runs but also Crafty Ribbons and Paper Pretties too! So some lovely prizes up for grabs from our top three winners!
I've 3D-ed the little owl who's called Owl Bert and coloured him with mainly lilac/lavender/bluebell Promarkers. There's about three layers, (seven all together counting the sentiment) the last being just his eyes, beak and eye brows! I haven't adding any glitter to the card yet... but if I do...the larger picture at the bottom of the page will have it splashed all over it!(I'm too lazy to change all the pictures!)
The flowers were pink and white, which didn't go, so to make them match (before I put them all together) I coloured them with a BlueBell Promarker, which really is more purple than blue. There's also some mock stitching using a white gell pen.
The font is a freebie. I've used it in bold. It's called CurlyShirley and you can download it HERE (One of the brackets is a nice curly bit!)
New Followers! Hi and a big (((wave))) to Chrissy xx..who is already following from waaaay back, I'm sure...plus Janice with a few links so I'll add Stamping Mad. Victoria, who also has lots of links, here's Heart of a Wizardess plus Birgitta and Fit Kitty who's one of my best storkers! You'll find lovely cards over on KT Designs!
That's it! Sorry I'm a bit late! I'm getting a bit peeved with the font size, no matter what I choose, usually 'normal' size, it always comes out small! and it won't change! (Not unless I go into the HTML, which is a pain and takes ages.) never mind...I'll just eat more chocolate!! Thank you for stopping by! I hope to add this to a few.....

lol I always enjoy reading your posts, this little owl is very cute and how clever of you to have all three B's on your card :)
ReplyDeleteLyn, what a very pretty birthday card ....I love that you have coloured Bert Owl in those lilac shades that make him look so friendly. Well, let's put it this way, I'm not a quivering wreck as I admire him despite the fact that he does look ready to take flight thanks to your lovely layering. The ladybird paper and butterflies are so attractive but the butterflies on that gorgeous ribbon are very special.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this lovely card in our challenge this week. Ingrid xx ( OSAAT Team )
What a cutie! Love your decoupage - all those layers really make him look 3-D! I like how you managed to get all 3 options of the challenge in too - well done! And thanks for the shout-out :-) Have a great day!
