ATC's. Artists Trading Cards, and postcards of where we live... Now, that sounds nice and easy but can I find any where who sells post cards? No. I was in a shop that years back sold the little polythene bags for the ATC's but of course the lady there said she hasn't had any for years. (Amazon will send them by tomorrow) Then I mentioned postcards. Didn't have any. Then, as I paid for my A4 folders for my A4 Stamps (freebies from Magazines) there, on a postcard rack where two postcards. YAY! One of some New Forest Ponies and the other, included four smaller pictures of the town I was in. Really fasinating! Not! 1) A go-cart race that takes up the whole high street, I've never been (although, my brain sez I have... but I could've dreamt it) 2) A duck pond, 3) The High Street, and 4) The Water Tower. Mind Blowing Stuff!
Here's some of my ATC's, not all finished, yet. But near-enough! I'll go hunting for some more Post Cards later today, when we-go see Lady Pam. The gnomes in the pictures above are red herrings, as they're covering up something else I'm making. (But if you want an ATC with a gnome on it, you've only got to ask!)And this, as seen in the post below, is this weeks freebie. It's supposed to fold down to make the inside of a long slimline card. And just hiding behind it, you can see some stamped birds and ponies, which is a bookmarker made by Caro, probably made for one of the woyww swaps years back! That's it! Golly Gosh, it's not even one in the morning yet! Night night! Thank you for stopping by, 'see' you later today over on The Stamping Ground! Stay Safe!
**UPDATE! I have found some postcards!!
Good luck on the postcard finding front Lyn. I am off out tomorrow to get some - I do know where I can get them at least. Stay safe and happy 12th anniversary WOYWW. Sarah #9
ReplyDeleteHappy 12th anniversary to us! it's been fabulous to see deskers come and go and come back over the years. WEll done on finding a postcard even if it wasn't what you wanted. I didn't so have given up. Love the busy desk. Helen #11
ReplyDeleteHi Lyn
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW anniversary.

Chris #13
Ah what a lovely busy desk - and just a tantalizing glimpse of you ATCs. As you are such a constant commentor on my blog I would love to trade with you (even if I have to make an extra!) so let me know!
ReplyDeleteHappy 12th Anniversary to all my desk-hopping mates!
Mary Anne (7)
oh dear, you were not happy with the selection of pc's I gather. Not to worry, at least you did try. I didn't get one either.
ReplyDeleteThe ATC looks lovely, Clarice Cliff'ish, but I can't see any gnomes. Maybe I need to go to Specsavers, in fact I know I do.
Have a super week, enjoy today's celebrations and stay safe and well
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
Your description of the local postcards made me hoot!! I don’t think they’re much better where I live so that’s why I got my own printed!
ReplyDeleteHappy 12 WOYWW, hope you have a fun day around the desks xx
Hugs LLJ 3 xxx
PS - my email to your googlemail keeps failing. Can you email me?

DeleteHey Lyn, I remember the craft room in a box. It was the year I was your PIF. You lucked out finding postcards. I didn't have the same luck. I think your gnomes are adorable. Happy 12th Anniversary from # 10.
ReplyDeleteI had such fun making that craftroom in a box, I wish I could find the photos I took!
DeleteHi Lyn, you’re my pif so send me your address via Lmcollis@icloud.com and there will be an ATC in the post to you forthwith! Even in Folkestone there was a lack of postcards this year - no tourists. I did find one or two tedious ones but decided to print my own.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW anniversary
Hugs

I just love the creative business of your desk. Had to smile at the bookmark peeping out from behind your freebie as I don't remember that one at all! It must be from quite a while ago. It has been lovely to get to know you through the desks over the years. Happy 12th WOYWW Anniversary. Take care and stay safe, With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#15)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI assumed postcards would be an easy find here, being in a seaside=y part of the world... But no - it has taken me two weeks to find some...I will not describe the pictures - that's for my swappees to discover. By the way I'd like a gnome...
Happy Woyww!

OK! Doing a couple now!
DeleteHappy 12th Anniversary WOYWW. One thing we do not lack in Pembrokeshire is lovely postcards, although the small village shop I went to on Monday (avoiding the crowds down at the harbour gift shops) didn't have a huge choice. I use Amazon for almost everything nowadays. I have to make use of the monthly cost of the Prime membership some how!! Ali x #34
ReplyDeletePerhaps the randomness of the postcards are a true reflection of the area? That did make me smile. No postcards to be had here but I did manage to make my own. Do let me know if you want a swap! Like you I have been in and out of WOYWW when other things got in the way - but hey always have you back!! Happy Anniversary, love n hugs, Cindy #17 xx
ReplyDeleteLove to swap!
DeleteHappy Anni! and many more- I am after you! forrestwife (at) yahoo.com and its in my google profile. Thanks for being one of the finest friends I have never met. Robyn 6
ReplyDeleteHi there. Happy anniversary. I do hope you manage to find some postcards that speak of your place - rather than ones that don't!!! Your desk looks really busy. Well done.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Happy 12th anniversary! Yes we struggled to find nice local postcards but Annie has created her usual WOYWW poem to compensate!. Annie and I have just had a coffee to celebrate and sort our ATCs to post. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteWell done on the post card. I was going to use some photos I'd taken recently but I ran out of time. Lovely to see someone else using Oxides, it makes me feel less naughty about ordering more for me! Anyway, happy anniversary! Lisa-Jane, #2
ReplyDeleteI've had a really manic morning with sewing so am late in the day joining in the celebrations. Thanks so much for your love and friendship for all these years my friend.
ReplyDeleteI had to hunt to find some postcards too and managed to find a few in our local tourist info office.
Hugs,
Annie x # 19
I gave up trying to find postcards and made my own in the end. There's some very interesting projects on the go here today and it looks like you are going to have a lovely creative WOYWW Anniversary. Hugs, Angela x25x
ReplyDeleteA great assortment of craftiness on your desk. I vote for the horses every time! I saw postcards outside a shop as we travelled to our next site. I didn’t think my husband would appreciate me shouting “Stop! I need some postcards!” Anngela #23
ReplyDeleteDon’t be stressed about postcards, seems they are very much a thing of the past. you’d think that the New Forest would still be a postcard worthy place. Strange. Ah well, nice idea but too stressful! I hope you had a long lie in this morning, your hours are crackers! Enjoying the sight of your desk with ATCs in progress, makes me feel a lot better about having my desk in the same state!
ReplyDeleteI have found some, I remembered a Chocolate Truffle shop in Lymington, only about 5 miles from me, that always had postcards hanging on a hook out side the shop, and YES some of the sites of the New Forest surounding areas. I was very good, and didin't but any chocolate truffles!
DeleteGnome ATC's sounds like fun. Postcards are hard to find, but not impossible yet. It seems lots of places stopped because of the virus and folks not traveling. Good luck on your ATC's. Edwina Brown
ReplyDeleteI thought I had commented but this morning came back to check and zilch! Yet I remember commenting on the atc reminding me of Clarice Cliff strange.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary anyway, even if I am late - I too didn't do a postcard but I'll show my atc's next week.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
Hi Spyder - lovely to see your desk again - love the ponies postcard - I am so far still not getting any crafty stuff done - but its nice to see others are. See you at next WOYWW Cheers Maurs xxx #26
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny! I loved the ponies in the New Forest when we went there on holiday! Good job that you finally found some - who would have thought postcards have gone completely out of fashion - I actually made my own with my own photo. Let me know if you want to swap! Happy anniversary! xx zsuzsa #17
ReplyDeleteI still need to locate some postcards, but being down in Cornwall, that shouldn't be too difficult! Finding them of Camborne may be a bit tricksy though... hmmm.
ReplyDeleteLove all the bits and bobs on your desk this week, the gnomes are v cute...
Happy WOYWW 624

Sorry for the late visit. Happy 12th anniversary. Thank you you for sharing your desk and being part of of WOYWW, it's what makes it all special. Here's to the next 12 years. Glad you managed to find some postcards! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #20
ReplyDeleteLovely busy desk, Lyn. It's sad that postcards now seem to be so difficult to obtain - I hadn't realised that.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit last week - if you hop over this week, you can see the finished blanket! My hubby is absolutely thrilled with it.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi x #29
Thanks for your return visit, Lyn - so glad you like the kitty throw! Sorry to hear you've had drainpipe problems - it's amazing how the dirt and moss etc. can accumulate, isn't it. Thank you for your good wishes for my appointment on Monday.
ReplyDeleteShoshi #29
ah yes, I asked about postcards too and got blank looks at our local shop! SO, I decided to DIY but wont post it on my blog until I know the recipient has received it!
ReplyDeleteRunning late this week, but its raining today so a good excuse to catch up!
Kyla aka lilpidge
Hello Spyder ... thanks for popping by my blog last week - apologies for the very late reply but goodness knows where time goes! Your creative space looks wonderfully busy - my desk remains clear but I have half an idea muddling around - time will tell!
ReplyDeleteI love the New Forest - we always use to holiday there for years when we were first married & it holds lots of happy memories. As for postcards - had not a hope of finding any so resorted to a home-made effort. Not ideal but served the purpose I think! Have had no complaints anyway so all must be good.
I totally get your forgetting to press publish or send ... the times I send a FB message and wait and wait for a reply only to then find my message sitting there because I never actually sent it ... hopeless! Take care, love Debbie xXx
love your ATC. Happy 12th WOYWW! Better late than never! Elle #12
