First WOYWW of 2013 showing Bisto drums! |
Morning Happy
WOYWWers. Here's my desk this week... Okay... not much going on... the cold mocha has been removed and the iced coke ended up having a dash of rum...That was yesterday afternoon and last night, and now...(drum roll) at last The Bisto drums as well as some of the Cocoa drums, have been painted, ready to be glued to my plastic lazy Susan, and then... spray painted with some colour I can find out in the garage... probably a touch up colour we had for the many old cars we get through!
|
6 months later, drums are painted! |
So, that'll be black, blue....off white... red....bronze (that's going back a few years...) whatever colour I find, they'll look better than they do now~they've waited a long time! It originally was my very
first WOYWW anniversary thing I made, but didn't finish as I used paper cups with wide tops and narrow bottoms (wish I had a narrow bottom!) and I soon realised I could only get a few pens to fit.
|
Can't quite get on the swivel chair to take this one! |
Hopefully when the new super tower
revolting revolving turntable is finished (in another six months!) it with look super fab! (Okay maybe not...imagination is a very special thing!) Well, that's what's on my workdesk this Wednesday.... what's on yours? Right! I'm off to bed, this is on timer! Nip over to
Julia's Stamping Ground if she's there
, join in!
Didn't I just see you (grin)? Yesterday (in your world), I thought you had misspelled the word, but was too kind to ask. Now I'm asking! What is Bisto?
ReplyDeleteThe drums look super, though. Happy WOYWW from #2.
Cool! I really like that lazy susan supply idea. I don't have room for something like that in my studio, but I could certainly do something like that for my classroom. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my desk :D I love those little canisters. What are they?? We don't have those here. (North Carolina) I loved looking at all the stuff on and around your desk. You have some really fun toys. I also really love that picket fence looking crate you have your pencils in. I have mine in an old plastic box. BTW.. I love a spam sammy myself. :D Have a great week. (((HUGS)))

It is still Tuesday here. I never know what I'll read here. I always enjoy it. I wish I had some of those containers. They look the right size for holding my copics. I like that you are putting them on a lazy-susan. That is a great idea! thanks for sharing. Edwina Brown
ReplyDeleteHi Lyn,
ReplyDeleteI wish my bottom was a tad smaller too....LOL Very interesting idea those drums as containers on a lazy Susan. may have to try this.

There's not a lot on my craft mat this week at all... don't like the heat, it stifles my creativity!! Hope your lazy Susan makes it to completion soon, I want to see it. Helen 19
ReplyDeleteThis sounds a fabulous idea for a project - so useful and - hey - we need imagination and sometimes things turn out different to how we imagined they would and - dare I say it - sometimes better!!! Have a great WOYWW! Julie Ann x #45

ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the Bisto, will start saving them in the winter, not much call for hot gravy in this weather as yet.

Thanks for stopping by my site and sending a comment. Great idea for storage, and what a beautiful part of the world you live in. Margaret (glitterandglue) and I took our honeymoon in the New Forest nearly 41 years ago now!

Moving along I see! Great idea to use the drums and paint them for your lazy susan. I am looking forward to seeing it completed. (Wish I had some rum for my pepsi right now, it is hot as blazes out and they say it is another 5 days of it! Enjoy the week!Winnie#85
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant upcycling--we can't have enough organizing ideas! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #6
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to makeover those drums and lazy susan, looking forward to seeing the finished result!
ReplyDeleteDebxx #4
Oooh a lazy susan, sounds like fun to me. Used to love painting and fixing old cars in the garage too. Sadly it's not possible, so have moved onto my bed to craft instead and raise money for others. As long as it's crafting, it's fine with me! Happy WOYWW! ♥ Karen ♥ 109 x
ReplyDeleteNice to see those bisto cans finally being decorated...looking forward to seeing the finished lazy susan! Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW. Caro x (#78)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations at moving along that work-in-progress ... I await completion with bated breath :) Seriously, I think that is a fab idea - the car paint colours sound interesting. Hope you've had an enjoyable day, maybe with another iced rum and coke to cool you down, and have a great week. Elizabeth x #47
ReplyDeleteYup imagination is the best!!! It's when it doesn't quite become what you expected that it really sucks lol. Looking forward to seeing the finished product in 6 months of so rofl.

Great idea with the Bisto drums, Lyn. I've got a Smash drum that I keep my paint brushes in, and it still says Smash on it. One day I shall alter it!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,
Shoshi #116
Great idea with the containers! Look forward to seeing the finished project! Wish I could store stuff that way, but my cats wouldn't leave them alone! They love chewing on my markers and colored pencils!
ReplyDeleteBought a few promarkers off the internet the other day. Anxious to see if I'm any good at coloring with them. Wondered if I'd be able to mix them well with my Bic Mark-It markers and my sharpies. I'll have to let ya know later. Waiting patiently for them to arrive in the mail... You always do a great job of coloring! Hope I do o.k. with them. I do love my Bics and Sharpies though.
Slow but sure wins the race you know :-) Thanks for calling by to visit me yesterday. I'm only just getting round to doing a bit of blog hopping to check out what my friends have been up to this week....a 6am to 9pm day with my gorgeous grandchildren yesterday sort of got in the way of blogging....but I'm not complaining cos it was a wonderful day. :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week.
Hugs,
A x #55
Great idea - I've done similar with cut up wrapping paper tubes, but Bisto tubs are bigger. We just don't eat much gravy :) It would take me 5+ years to amass that many LOL!
ReplyDeleteStill, I'll look forward to seeing it finished.
Happy (late) WOYWW!
Mary Anne (35)
What a cool way to store pens or pencils..and they're all handy when you want one! Oatmeal boxes would work for us on this side of the pond. :) Thanks for sharing! Thanks for the earlier visit. Happy WOYWW! Nan G #104
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh, the six months later gag, I mean! Cos the actual idea is brilliant..you'll store loads in there..just don't spin it too fast ;-) !!
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 46 xx
Brilliant. Great post - full of bright ideas and lots of humour. Thanks for making me laugh.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week - go easy on the fumes!!
Thanks for stopping by.
Margaret #48
Well, I would say I can't wait to see the finished project, but it sounds like I'm gonna have to! lol :) Thanks for stopping by my mess and leaving me a sweet comment already. :) Deeyll #50
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated WOYWW, Lyn! I was going to say "slow but steady wins the race" and then I noticed Annie said the same! Funny how often that happens, great minds and all. I didn't read the other comments, so others may have said it, too. I think your project will look awesome once it's done and maybe it won't take another six months for us to see the results of all your work!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting me earlier! Have a wonderful week! Darnell #20
You are so funny Lyn! My desk is a mess, didn't manage to join in this week for obvious reasons!
