It's time for a Quirky Challenge again! And Cazzy is having another go at choosing the theme coz it's her Birthday! Happy Birthday Cazzy!! (We make you work harder on your birthday at Quirky Crafts!) She has gone potty on 'songs' so this time, the challenge is to interpret the song, "Daddy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow." Our Sponsors this time are... Bugaboo and Doodle Dragon Studios We have some fabulous project made by the design team, so go see!
And here's my Dustin Pike Card.... (well, I did my best! but if you pop over to the challenge blog you'll find better ones!!)my 'card' sort of folds out to show the mini zoo inside. I still have no ink in my printer, so I've had to 'send' the didi's to hubby's computer and then print them out... but then, I suddenly realised I'm out of my heavy quality paper too. Honestly! No batteries in the week, no ink, no glue... (have some now.) Promarkers running out, (I'm sure they don't put so much ink in these days) and now no paper! Is someone trying to tell me some thing!I've used card in the end and shh! don't tell, printed on the other side of I project I was doing last week, but didn't like what I'd done... there's only one place where you might spot something seeping through that hasn't got anything to do with Zoo's!
I've used loads of Dustin Pikes famous digi's, (Love Dustin's digi's, my Daddy's day card won a prize!) coloured them with ProMarkers after first playing with them on the computer as, I wanted to put a few of them inside the cages, even though most zoos no longer have this kind of cage these days. ..You have to pretend there's acres of land behind them!
Once I spied the hanging monkeys, I had to use them dangling from the cage too... which decided the size of the card. (Two bits of card joined together and then sliced to make it a bit shorter. There was about an inch over at the back, which I've left on and added stripy paper to so that, so when it's closed it can still stand up.
I took the first pictures outside as it's so hot here in England at the moment! It means the card is nice and bright, but there are shadows...
I then took it indoors and decided to add the animals names to the card..and crossed out the word '
I've used a couple of freebie fonts, Jinky Where you can make your own Logos and buttons (see below)
Rumpelstiltskin download HERE and The 'Don't Feed The Monkeys' sign is written in Darlin BTN
and the We're Going To the Zoo (inside) was done in WordArt Text box using Apple Boy Outline BTN it's free, although some sites do charge for it.That's it! Thank you for stopping by! Hoping to add this to some...

Wonderful card Lyn, and very inventive. I know that zoos don't look like this any more, but this is the way I remember them too. They're 'Wildlife Parks' these days aren't they. And would be much harder to depict I imagine, lol :D
