It's A Quirky Slide...or Push or Pull...or....

Hello people's! It's that Quirky time again, when I forget what day it is and then suddenly realise and have to rush about sticking bits of paper together and make something resembling a card! But not this week! I'm on time, done my card and (!!!) this is on timer because I'm not here.
This Fortnight it's Dianne's turn to set the challenge over on Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog. (Her second go!) and Di loves to test your craftiness and wants to see you make a...
A Sliding Window Card with A Male Theme!
Sometimes called a push-pull card, or a Slider Card or a Tag Card or even a pull up Easel card.
Now, for those of you scratching your head in puzzlement, (like I was) here's a YouTube Link Here to show you just how it's done! And!!! (There's more as the title suggests!) Dianne also wants to set a theme to this challenge. Seeing Father's Day is next month, she has chosen a Male Theme so that those of you who would still like to join in with Quirky Craft's Challenge, but aren't into making cards, can still play along and make a Male gift, but with movement... That'll get your noggins, noggling!!
So? Got that? A pull up card with a male theme....and for those of you who would prefer to make something non card related, a Challenge of a Male themed gift with movement. The mind boggles! Rather you than me...oh, that's okay, I've already done mine!
We're kindly being sponsored this time by...
STITCHY BEAR DIGITAL STAMPS

who sent us all some digi's to use and I chose this one, designated driver. (he also has papers to match!)
I thought it would make a nice Father's Day Card or a birthday card for an Uncle (presumingly one who is slightly follicly challenged!) There's enough room to slip a slim packet of seeds or a gift token or even money in with the sliding bit! (Just as well I don't have any balding male members in my family!)
I've coloured two little designated drivers with Promarker pens, cut out the best coloured one, minus his wisps of hair, eye brow, car aerial and back light, and fixed it over the second coloured drawing using very thin foam pads, (giving it a bit of a 3D effect) Then added the puffs of exhaust smoke and the 'ground' then scribbled around the edge using a thin black pen. Finnish it off by mounting it onto the same brown card mat that was just slightly wider.
The card is a dark brown leather look piece of A4 card, folded and cut into an A6 card, with a bit sliced off the top so it will still fit into the envelope once the tag is attached. (You might want to add a ribbon too.) I used a 1" round Woodware punch to cut out where you pull the tag and added a heart eyelet. You might want to add some cord.
Once made, I stitched around it with a white gel pen and added the car brad (minus it's legs!) So there you go! Simples!!
Pop over and see what everyone's done and don't forget to have a look at the YouTube link. That's it for now!
"Lyn!! What about the font???"
Oh yes, of course! It's a hand writing Freebie, it's called Honey Bunches and you can download it HERE or even HERE where you can type in a few words and see what it looks like, which is all very useful! And also HERE, in other words, just type in the name and you'll find loads of places. Click the pictures to make them bigger. Thank you for stopping by!

  8. I love your card Lyn, the stitching is great, the little car at the bottom too, and the sentiment really pops when the card is popped up too.
