It's Wednesday! (well, it will be when you read this) and what happens on Wednesdays? (We have chips for tea) No, crafty people from all over everywhere, go and visit each other and have a jolly good nose. So, put your best pictures up, pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground, Queen of everything Wednesday, add your name to the link and join in.. I'm going to do an amazingly short post today... nah... only joking!
On my desk this week is, a bear I was going to use on the green gingham card I made Monday, but didn't. A squiggly ruler thing for drawing neat squiggling lines, a bug that I'm working on, a Nutella glass filled with Coke and some empty tubes of glue. O...k, I hear you say slowly. Normal things to have on a craft desk. It's just that I have so many of these glue tubes, I feel they must be useful for something. Just haven't figured out what yet! Any ideas welcome. (I'm actually working on my mum and dad's 60th Wedding Anniversary Card, but you can't see that, as it's on the dining table)
If you pull back a bit (My floor's tidy this week by the way!!) you can see my day-light lamp is on, because otherwise is would be pretty dark in here, as it's really about five to Midnight Tuesday. Just taken a picture of my next card.
You can see my little case of Stickles glitter and one of my Tesco ribbon jars that are no longer a pound but gone up to £1.75. I'm really mad with Tesco's at the moment because I'm nearly out of their Finest 120gsm paper, and for those of you who use it and haven't noticed yet, it's now only 100gsm. (shock, horror) AAarrgh!!) I rung their helpline and it appears, they hadn't even noticed but are .... 'putting it down to 'environmental savings and costs' but it is still, compared to our other printing paper, our finest* ' (what tosh!)
Anyway I'm protesting. Bring back 120gsm!! Come and Join my FaceBook Group it might work, but I doubt it!
Don't worry, it's not a real spider. It's supposed to be fixed to the house name plate, but hasn't been stuck back on yet. He's not real, honest!.hello!(oh well, that's about half the people logging off and never coming back again!)
This is the desk I wish was mine. Nice and tidy... but it's not. It's a download. (you can add your own picture) The cat on the mouse pad is Frog (my cat) but I've forgotten where I downloaded it from... anyone know??
**Update** from Bleubeard and Elizabeth put your own pictures in all sorts of strange places http://www.dumpr.net/ Thank you Bleubeard and Elizabeth!!
Those of you who are left and haven't a clue what WOYWW is, as you've been exploring Mars, learning to kayak in the Outer Himalayas, or are just new to blogging, the best way to 'meet' over 100 bloggers is to come and join in over on Stamping Ground.
Thank you to everyone who called in last week. I'll be round later, when I get home from work. Have a good WOYWW!!

As the picture loaded I thought hmm, what's the Spyder up to - and then I see they're empty glue tubes. I do have one idea...you could throw them away. How long have you had 'em, waiting for th lightbulb moment?!!! You make I larf out loud!
ReplyDeleteUgh, big spider. As long as it's not on the bell....!
Lots to look at this morning, i did worry about the spider.
ReplyDeletethanks for your freebie, she is cute, I might printer out and colour her up today
That spider looks a little too realistic for me! I think they do those exact same jars in Asda and I'm pretty sure they are £1. Great to have a nose at your desk, thanks for sharing :-)

ReplyDeleteDx
Thanks for letting me rummage around your workspace this week I love the look of everything going on...and the spider does not bother me!
ReplyDeleteKS
Hi Lyn shame about the paper hun. Doesn't sound like they are going to rectify the problem does it. :(
ReplyDeleteWhat have you been up to with all the glue!!! perhaps you could stick the spiders legs together.. aarrh!
I have seen empty tubes used in mixed media and assemblage art. I would use them, but I would do it right away rather than leave them for that ah ha moment.
ReplyDeleteYep, I know where the download came from. I used it with Bleubeard back in WOYWW 57: http://www.dumpr.net/
Really fun site, too. Happy day!!
Great pics, really enjoyed having a snoop around. Ouch about the Tesco Finest paper, I use that too! I guess we all need to get on to Tesco about that.
ReplyDeleteOh I would have thrown these away in the past - note to self do not throw empty glu tubes away thanks for the tip !!! anyway thanks for sharing Liz ;O)
ReplyDeleteLots of interesting things in your workspace, but I'm afraid that I've drawn a blank on how to use the empty glue tubes !
ReplyDeleteMarilyn
Ooh the bug looks fab what we can see :-) Cut the tubes open, clean them and use the metal (may take a bit of cleaning!) Oh I must remember to join the Facebook group, I'd already thought perhaps some kind of campaign might work. Love dolly ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnne x
great work area not sure about the spider
ReplyDeleteAnother busy day at your craft station Lyn!
ReplyDeleteSounds typical of Tesco, why on earth would they listen to customers???
Thank you for Polly, she is a sweetie!

Well. When I read, 'on my desk this week is a beer', I had to scroll up and look right away. I mean, it's early morning so I am pretty tired and admittedly, haven't had my tea yet, but I was still dying because... beer, right? I mean, it just didn't go, but it was so funny.
ReplyDeleteThen, to my chagrin, I reread.
Oh.
Bear.
DURRRRRRR.
Yes, yes, a bear is better.
Happy beer-free Wednesday.
Amy
Fab - always love your desk...but empty glue - wasting valuable crafting space there....
ReplyDeleteLove the cat mat! Glad spiders are not quite so scary to me now although I don't think I'd really like to find that one in my bath any day soon!! LOL
ReplyDeletexoxo Sioux
Thanks for the free digi! Spiders, real or not, still freak me out a little.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!
What a lot you got......on your workdesk !!
ReplyDeleteI thought those fotoglues were my little kingdom before, now I absolutely can't STAND them!! After a while just EVERYTHING falls apart and then I'm REALLY upset!! So don't buy those anymore (allthough I still have 5 or what of them laying in my desk somewhere)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day!
** Evi **
Fairly sure they sell those jars in Ikea too but no idea how much for! Yeah my gaze kept being drawn from the text to the suspicious black legged thing, I was really hoping there wud b a good explanation! Can we see ur doorplate when is fixed? I'm intrigued! Have u opened one of those tubes up or is it just the way they are lying? I was thinking open them out, maybe u cud punch out of the coloured parts? (ok looking back there isnt really much colour! Oh well text is really fashionable! lmso)
ReplyDeleteEeeek! Spider!!! *runs away*
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! I think I agree with Julia - throw away the tubes. I can see nasty sharp metal causing painful injuries!!
ReplyDeleteI want to stand up for the spiders. They don't do any harm and make beautiful webs and I have plenty in my house. In fact I went mad when DH brushed away a web in the corner of a stair that I had carefully vacuumed around for weeks.
ReplyDeleteLoved my snoop as ever, lots of interest there and fun to read!
and BTW...I LOVE SPIDERS
Jo x
Why do I keep getting a spyware site pop up everytime I visit you hun? Is anyone else getting them?
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to buy any paper from Tesco's...still have some left, but now I know they have reduced the weight I don't think I'll bother!
Great desk pics honey :)
*hugs* Heather x
Well, I keep a lot of crap (you may have noticed!) but never empty glue tubes. Never seen a squiggly ruler for drawing neat squiggly lines, but it sounds a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteHi Spyder, what a lot of empty tubes, are you going to make a collage of them he he. You must have been very busy. Lots of lovely pics about. Have a lovely wednesday lol Jo xxx
ReplyDeleteI'd throw the glue tubes out too!! Fab peeks today xx
ReplyDeleteGreat that you have a dedicated area for the photo'ing of projects. I like the look of that plastic/perspex suitcase. I didn't look too closely at the spider eergh
ReplyDeleteLinbyx
Can I come and play with your squiggly ruler? I like anything that isn't a straight line lol
ReplyDeleteI love reading your post...It's fab, not so sure about the spider though!
ReplyDeletexx
Spiders, hrmmm.... do like to see the webs in the garden - especially after it has had a light rain on it - magic! Thanks for the snoop!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet dolly. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletethank you so much for all your lovely images. however, i cannot download any of them. for some reason even if i right click and save as it comes out in a code. bummer for me.
ReplyDeleteglue tubes, hmm, i think they can be used for multi media collages or jewelry pieces but i guess it takes a special talent which i don't think i have...yet. (who knows).
ReplyDeleteGreat workspace, and as for 120gsm paper.. love it too, although haven't tried Tesco's.. have you tried your local printer.. they alwasy carry good stock of different weights :))
ReplyDeleteWoh couldn't snoop today that spider looks to real and he watching me! lol
ReplyDeleteOooh you have that lovely Martha Stewart frond or leaf punch (the green one) that I keep seeing on the magnolia design team cards - am really a tinsy bit envious now! lovely mooch on your desk and a great read and, guess what, in fact you'll never guess so I will tell you - we often have chips for tea on Wednesday too! it all depends upon whether I did them for tea on Tuesday or not! Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteApologies for my tardiness this week ... did you know the spider is still there ... and it's Thursday now ... just wondered :0)
ReplyDeleteChips for tea eh? You made me laugh, I had salmon last night, cooked on a cedar plank on the bbq! I have had to resort to a google id just to be able to comment this week, blogger and wordpress are not talking to each other yet again!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Brenda
Love your desk..it is always so interesting! The spider made me grin...I don't like spiders when they move but stationary ones are OK.
ReplyDeleteLOL I sometimes think I go through that many tubes of photoglue in a week. Love the MS punches, are they spydy webs and where did you get them?
ReplyDeleteYou always have fabby stash on your desk.
xx
I hate it when companys do that, either change the product you receive or up the price with no warning, its just not on.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if you have a staples nearby but there 160gsm text and graphic paper is pretty nice to work with, but think its about a fiver a bale
how can you bear to have that spider on your desk, it's bloomin huuuge!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried cutting open a tube and cleaning off the glue, then using the metal punched out as embellies, I use tomatoe puree tubes like this.
Bit late getting round the desks this week!
ReplyDeleteLots of yumminess to snoop at today!
Chrissie
Hey Spyder!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! and thanks for Polly, she's fab!
