It's that
Quirky Time again! This time it's Daire's turn to set the theme. It's Daire's last challenge as she has decided to move on after being with us for ten months, so she wanted something nice and easy!
Your Favourite Things!
This could be your favourite colour, your favourite technique, your
favourite theme, your favourite brand, whatever you like! The one rule
is we would need you to tell us which of your favourite things you've used.
(otherwise how will we know?) If you don't, Cazzy will wave her magic stick and you will not be counted in the voting.
We're sponsored this time by
Robyn's Fetish and
Crafty Ribbons; so, some lovely prizes for our winners!!
Here's my card; I love layering, the more layers the more fun I have and I love 3-D-ing to make the image pop and of course colouring with my ProMarkers. So when I saw we had this cute little cook from
Robyn's Fetish I remembered another favourite image from Mo Manning and the papers I used when I made that card. Definitely my favourite cooking papers! They were freebies from
Paper Craft Inspirations (one of my favourite magazines) some years ago. (I'm afraid the link is now closed) Luckily I already had some saved and printed out and ready to go!
First I covered the blank card in red card... I would've used a red blank card if I had one the right size, but this works just as well, and makes a good 'solid' card! Then in red gingham. Then I cut everything else to size and layered it onto more red card, added the brads, fiddled with the shapes for a bit and then fixed them all on. I did add a bit of spotted ribbon but didn't have enough to make a bow... so then covered it with some clear sticky stuff you add to the underneath of carpets to stop them from slipping. (It's supposed to look like kitchen tiles and it adds a bit of texture) Finished off by adding the button kitchen things with a dob of gel glue.
The Little Cook is called
My Little Cook you can find her over in Robyn's Fetish Store (she's on sale at the moment too!) I've 3D-ed her, so printed out two of her and then added another head, body and socks, shoes and a bit of the stool to the main image, to make her pop out.
Inside: slightly more red showing on the left as the papers were printed out at a different time, one full page and one to fit page I think, so the left one was a fraction smaller then the right side.... but who will notice, apart from me!? The little toppers came with the set.
The Font I've used is a freebie, it's called
Violety Crumble, (which I thought was clever...
crumble... apple, rhubarb) I don't just throw these posts together you know!!
(yes you do!) You can download it
