Just as well she was there really, as I slipped on one of the rafters and fell (luckily) into a pile of unused duvets. Could I get up?? No. I guess after a while I would've managed, but with Emma's help it was all made a lot easier! So I've decided to put the dec boxes out in the mancave or the garage) then I don't have to worry about getting them back up into the attic, and then down again next year...and then up again.... not looking forward to that. They may have to stay out in the mancave or the garage forever!
I found these knitted thingies, I made years ago, in with the Christmas decs...there were quite a few of them-lost to the many boxes in the attic that I can't reach probably. Robin Hood and a Snowman...see! I can knit! Well, the tree is up and decorated....not as much stuff on it....it gets less and less every year, lights are in the windows...I want to put up some outside lights. Not much chance of that as I can only get on to the second or third run of the steps! And! this week I'm House sitting three dogs! And, one of them is staying with me for Christmas...
Never too late! My goodness, you avoided an accident in the attic didn't you, thank goodness for a pile of duvets and Emma! Glad you're ok and managed to get christmas decs sorted, I think the garage is great place to store the decs for next year! We have proper stairs going up to our concreted attic and I still hate having to go up and down with the stuff! I love the little knitted characters, specially Robin Hood, he doesn't get enough attention if you ask me!
ReplyDeleteOnly trouble is, both garage and mancave have become a dumping ground and are getting too full with unnessessaries!
DeleteI hope you didn't hurt yourself when you fell. I hate going in the loft if there is no-one else here (which there never is) so I tend not to... that's why it's still full of stuff that shouldn't be there anymore! Hope you have a happy Christmas . Happy WOYWW Helen #2
ReplyDeleteLuckily for me My John instuled, with my help, an electric loft ladder just months before he suddenly passed, so its easy getting up there but not so easy carring things, up or down...poor Christmas tree gets thrown down in bits!
DeleteH Lyni, I'm back home at last as we've been visiting friends and picking up the Christmas cake and probably talking too much Lol! Thank goodness you are okay. Hope you find somewhere safer to store the decs and remember where they are next year Lol! Wishing you a very happy woyww Christmas. Hugs Angela x9x
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Merry Christmas! Save me some cake!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nifty idea with the receipts. I'll find a use for it I'm sure. I so need a loft ladder - tell me what you got. We looked in to it but where the loft opening is is tricky. Have a wonderful holiday week!
ReplyDeleteCatching up!

Thank goodness the fall in the attic had a soft landing! I am in the middle of a sorting out, I keep trying to be organized! Have a great Christmas. Angela #16
ReplyDeleteSo glad you weren't alone when you fell Lyn. Our Christmas decorations live out in the garage too - I haven't been in the attic in ages. Love your background idea with the receipts. Merry Christmas and happy WOYWW. Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks for the forever freebie, I've downloaded, it's just my kind of thing thank you. Sorry to hear about the attic difficulties and glad daughter was there to assist you. Hubby floored our loft and put a good ladder in so access is good but my back isn't, so good job hubby is still able.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a Happy New WOYWW Year to you.
Hugs BJ#10
Glad to hear you didn't injure yourself with your fall. Good idea to shift them to the man cave.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have this one so I guess I missed it when it was uploaded last time.

I am pretty late commenting! But we are now at the holiday house and are ready for Christmas! Lucky you fell onto duvets! We went to a Carol service in the local reserve on Saturday night sitting on the grass. I had difficulty getting down and then couldn't get up!!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
