It's My Quirky Challenge! Christmas In July

Hi Guys! Long time no blog! And Oh lordy-me! It's surprizing how quickly you forget how to blog!! My old computer's going crazy! I'm sure there's steam coming out the back! The last card I made was on December  the 1st 2014, for a dog's birthday, (no, I didn't show you...) so I thought it fitting the next Quirky Crafts Challenge has to be Christmas In July! (does that actually make sense? No! Never mind!)
Onward! We're sponsored by  the lovely Crafty Ribbons, Bugaboo and Limited Runs! So loads of fabulous prizes to be won!
Here's my card using Kidzreindeer by Bugaboo. It's surprising how quickly you forget how to download digis and add them to other things too! This took me ages. There was a lot of swearing and staring at the scene and saying, "Now what do I do!" My computer made a weird peeping noise where a pop up informed me, I'm no longer supported by Windows... (Oh Poo!) It was like starting school all over again... the new girl, and getting it all wrong!
For those of you who don't know, yes I've been away, big cancer scare last Christmas, in hospital Christmas Eve, luckily it was only a 'little' cancer scare in the end, it was caught very early, had the op, done the treatment and still taking the pills.
Was told that they didn't need to see me again until next year! Yay! But Friday a letter came with an appointment to go back to see them next week...Aagghh! All this happened just as my Doggy walking business took off! So it's a mad house here~ "Tommy! stop licking the plates in the dish washer!!"and I know something will have to stop, "Pandora!! get out of the pond and stop chasing the fish!!" there's no way I can stay up all night blogging and making cards and by day be a doggie nanny! (wasn't there a super hero who did that? Crime fighter by night and reporter by day!? Yeah, but I can't fly!)
Oh well, Anyway, back to the card!! First I saved the digi in Word and then added my own background snow, which I've used loads of times, then I 3D-ed the little kid. (It could be a girl or a boy) Now then, for those who don't know, I have packed up all my crafty stuff and I could only find a handful of Promarkers, which luckily weren't too bad on the colours!(although her face is a bit pale) And I could only use papers, which hadn't been packed away. These festive foil papers  came free with Cardmaking and Papercraft last Christmas I think. (Fabulous!) I did the sentiment on the computer while I was paste and copying the images. The font is called... I'll look later! It's a freebie. The little snow flake was on a tag, so I used a heart brad to fix it to the card and recycle it here. It's all layered on silver shimmer card with loads of Stickles glue drizzled everywhere, along with a few silver peel-offs. I would've liked to add white eye-lash wool and 'snow' but, have no idea where that is!
Oh! The freebie font is called AL Serenade, download it HERE or just google the name... (some companies moan when I link!) That's it! Thank you for popping by, and thank you too for my new followers! Don't forget to join in over on Quirky Crafts! Better go... Scruffy's in the fridge! Reggie's in the bathroom, but I won't tell you what he's doing! Hoping against all hope to add this to some...

  7. Hi Lyn,
So good to see you! Glad you are alright, and it all went well! I haven't posted on my blog in forever either so don't feel bad. I just occasionally make a card now. Don't put too much pressure on yourself to do everything. None of us can do it all! Hope you get a good report from your appointment! Your card is wonderful! Christmas in July! :)
