I was soooo sure this was on timer! Anyway, I'm back from a week away in Cornwall. Plugged the computer back in its place, hunted out the camera, and here's my DT card for the reminder of my Quirky Challenge, Summer Memories. Great Sponsors, Bugaboo and Digital Delights!
I was going to do use this little fishing monkey last week, but didn't have time to 'play' with the digi as I needed two monkeys in the boat! There's a story here you see.... Hubby and our late bother in law, Alistair (The monkeys in the boat) went fishing with our girls, who soon became bored. So the guys came back and set off again, heading out to sea and the Old Harry Rocks, leaving me and Hubby's sister Debbie with the girls.
Well it wasn't long before we noticed something very odd happening....the boat was getting lower wnd lower in the water and slowing sinking! No amount of us yelling and waving made any difference... John and Alistair waved back but kept rowing!. The little boat was double skinned you see, so they couldn't see any water coming in and didn't notice the boat slowly getting lower and lower in the sea!
Luckily in the end, they did and quickly started rowing back...the little boat sank just metres from the shore and had to be pulled in. We still have the little boat, it stands in a corner at the bottom of my garden. I turned it into a seat with flowers...entered a picture of it into the Gardeners World Magazine and won some lovely garden furniture! So in a way that hot summers day, lives on, everyday!By the way, they did catch some fish...but they 'got away!'
The card. All the papers are by PinkPetticoat. (Very beachy!) The image is from a Bugaboo. I've added an extra monkey, 3D-ed them and coloured with Promarkers. Added an anchor charm on some cord, three red gems, a little Stickles glitter and folded strips of paper to look like ribbon. The sentiment is a rub on. That's it! Go join in over on Quirky Crafts! Thank you for stopping by!
