Free Font and Free Think Pink PinkPetticoat Papers

Just a quickie to nite. (My Mum's computer's doing weird things and we've been sorting it out! I think it's been 'talking' to my wacky camera!) So, back to yesterday's Blog Winners Card. The free font is called zodiatic. This font isn't widely available, but you still might have it, but if not you can down load it here.
This link takes you to 'Z' so you will have to scroll down a bit. This is o
ne of my favourite sites for free fonts as you can see just what they look like and there are thousands of them!! (You'll be there all night!) Once again it has been typed out in WordArt on the card so I could use two colours. It's a very small font, so you'll have to have the font size at around 30 to look like the normal 12. And once again I've used a mixture of Pink Petticoat Papers. There's a new kit called Think Pink, which is available as a Freebie on the Pink Petticoat Blog, but just in case you missed it, you can go here to download it!
Big (((wave))Welcome to new follower Fe-Fe who everyone must know! She does so much on forums and blogs! Pop over to Fe-Fe's World of Craft, Creatio
ns and Kids for loads of inspirations and also her lovely take on this weeks Quirky Crafts Challenge, Board Games!
Thank you for stopping by!
"Has she gone?"
"Yep"
"You sure?"
"Yep...turned off the computer and
everything!"

The Next Quirky Challenge: Board Games!

This weeks Challenge over on The Quirky Crafts Forum is all about Board Games! You can make anything you like, it doesn't have to be a card, anything that reminds you of a board game... I had to take these picture with my 'free with a posh cracker camera' and my mums "I don't think it's a digi camera," but they didn't turn out too bad! A bit blurry, but I think I'd had wine by then and didn't care!
My card ended up as a Halloween Trick or Treat board game. It did have Happy Halloween on the front, but I took that off!
One of my favourite things to do when I used to look after other peoples children was to get them all to make up board games. Give them paper, card, paints, pencils GLUE whatever they needed and they'd have a certain amount of time to invent a new board game. Of course the more gruesome they could make the game the better they liked it. We had bottomless mud bogs, torture chambers, trap doors and blood baths, along with Fairy Castles, flesh eating monkeys and cave dwelling monsters! And there'd always be treasure to find. We'd all play each others games to make sure they worked and then make one big game using all the best bits from each of the games. Great fun!
The idea of this 'game' is to get round the board anyway you can, without falling into traps or picking up Tricks and collect as many 'Treats' as you can, while giving the other players back your Tricks. The one who can get out with the most treats is the winner!
Ok....your turn! It can be a card, ATC, Scrapbook Page, ANYTHING that makes you think 'game board'
Now I'm thinking of a checkered mouse...a black and white checkered felt mouse...with cheese. Wish I could sew! Oh! Nearly forgot! There's a yummy prize for the winner!!
Back tomorrow to put in links to where you can download that Spooky House. All the little pictures on the board were from ClipArt on your computer. All the arrows and shapes were also made on the computer.
Night night! Watch out for those bed bugs!

Reach for the (Dog) Stars

You can tell I'm getting withdrawal symptoms can't you! I'm hunting out last years Christmas Cards! We (that's the royal we) have come to the conclusion that the camera is well and truly...passed it's sell by date. So I rang mum and borrowed her camera this afternoon.
"Can I borrow your digital camera for five minutes Mum?"
"I haven't got a digi camera" said she.
"Um, yes you have mum, you upload your photos to your computer, don't you?"
"Do I? Oh, I've never done that. I've got a plug in thingy-what's-it that I slot the camera into and it prints out all my photos. So, is that digi then?"
"Yes mum. But don't you ever download your pictures to your computer?"
"No, never done that. Can I do that? Why would I want to to that? I just print them on my thingy-what's-it... it's quite good but it doesn't work when there's no paper..."
Now you know why I have a few loose screws ...it's in the genes!
This card was cut at an angle so I could place a glitter snowflake star on the inside. I was trying to give the illusion that the dogs were reaching for it, so of course this card went off to one of my doggy sitting people. Did you know that The Dog Star, Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky and the Egyptians based their calender on the rising of it. (That was me trying to be clever, but I actually Googled it)
Pink Petticoat Papers, Penny Black image (swap) and coloured back in the time when I only had Whisper pens!
Time to say 'Hi' and a big (((wave)) to new Follower Shazza, pop over to Shazza's Craft Connection for some lovely scrapbook layouts... One more follower to add! (I've got about ten windows open...(that's computer windows not window in the house...well, just one or...(get on with it and stop waffling..) Hi (((wave)) to Ildiko who's just followed and...can't find a link yet...but I've got one of her ATC's sitting right next to my computer! (I think!...sorry...keep stopping to watch The Last Night of The Proms!!) Found a link for Ildiko! See! if you comment it makes it easy!! Pop over and see Ildz the Crafty Witch loads going on over there, even a neat way to hang your ribbons!
Back at Midnight...for a sneak peek of my next Quirky Challenge card...and back tomorrow with this weeks, 'Followers BLOG CANDY WINNER!!' (Oh, I do miss Mr Voice Over Man.) Thanks for stopping by!

A Bit More Basil

I thought I'd do something a little bit different this Saturday afternoon, seeing my camera's still sick and I can't take any pictures of new cards. (Don't worry! This weeks Quirky challenge card will be here tomorrow... sneak peek at midnight tonight!... (Oho I can tell you're excited!)
I've been rooting (or is that routing?) through my files and old documents and I came across some of my 'old' cartoons and thought, I'll put one on, I mean load one up...I'd look really silly wearing it... This one, would be so much better in colour, but Newspapers didn't do colour cartoons back then...Actually, I'm now itching to colour it!! Not sure which paper it was in but I do remember being told that it wasn't Politically Correct... This one on the right was published round about the same time and was a take on a well known Motoring TV Advertisement...
Back later...with a quickie Christmas Card! (Oho the excitement!!)
