Mozilla FireFox v Internet Explorer

I was a bit surprised when I saw my blog displayed on Internet Explorer. (Below right) I don't usually use it, as I find Mozilla Firefox a lot faster and it remembers all my passwords, but obviously people do~ and is this what they see? All the letters are jammed down the middle of the pictures on Internet Explorer, where on Firefox, top left, they are spaced neatly underneath. Sorry about the photos, but I can't believe there's such a difference! On the good side, for Internet Explorer, I prefer the font it uses...a little bolder but while I've been typing this...Internet Explorer is still trying to load...

A Few More King Tut ATC's

Sorry! Gone a bit mad on these Tutankhamun's. This is the second set I've made, promise not to put the third set out until next month!! They are all (but one) spoken for, and I'll post them off A.S.A.P.

Number one: (swapped) I had a go with Shrink Plastic on this one. In the top picture on your right, you can see I've stamped the image with StazOn Jet Black ink on the plastic sheet and then coloured it in using the same gel pens....twelve hours later... and it still hadn't dried!
I'll have another go and experiment with the different pens I have. Anyone know which pens are best let me know!
I've used acrylic paints before but the colour looked really...umm thick and a bit dull...It was a Christmas Card (with Snowy the snowman) and if I can find a picture, I'll post it a bit later. After dabbing the shrunken Pharaoh with a tissue, I cut it out, punched a hole using my Crop-a-Dial and then (the fun part) heated it using my heat gun. Had to chase it round the work top though! Surprisingly, (seeing he lived in a desert) Tut didn't like the heat one little bit! (*note, a fact I found very interesting while researching my 'never ending story', The Sphinx was not worn away by sand, as many people believed, it was worn away by....water!)
Number 2: Above. (swapped) I used my tiny little Woodward Tag punch and a tiny stamped image from a clear stamped set called Habico Clear Stamps, Egypt 1. You get ten in the set. I've just Googled the name and can see they also do, Egypt 2, 3, 4, and 5. I might see if my local, (not really a craft) shop can get me any of the other sets!
Number 3: (swapped) I made a little scroll, using cocktail sticks and beads and stamped on some hand made paper with the third rubber stamp in the wooden set. Added a bit of gold on the beads using a gold pen. I've also gone round the edges using a gold pen. The little shinning dots are peel- offs
Number 4: I used the 'Eye' stamp, from the wooden stamp, set, which came with The Pharaoh and the script stamp. I also gave some of the Tuts gold ear-rings, using the waste dots from the peel-offs.
Number 5: (swapped) I've used another image from the clear stamps set, The Obelisk at Karnak Temple perhaps? I've heat embossed it and mounted it on some black card and fixed it with 3D foam pads.
This half Pharaoh was also coated with some water-base Matt Acrylic Vanish~ for no reason other than to see what it would look like. Made it a little duller, and at one time I thought the gel pens might run! (But I bribed them not to and they didn't!)

Number 6: I did a bit more 3D work behind the Pharaoh, some more stamping with the clear stamps and I added a little handle of gold thread...Don't know why I put that on, but it looked cute and of course, you can hang it up if you want to!
The claw stand they are all sitting on, is in fact a mobile phone holder.
Back here in blog land all looks straight and in line....sort of...(Who said the camera never lies!?)

Valley of The Kings

Fascinating, isn't it, The Valley of The Kings, where for over 500 years tombs were being constructed as monuments to Kings, who thought they were immortal. It was believed the Pyramids were designed as a type of "Resurrection Machine" that could magically launch the deceased Pharaoh's soul directly to the gods. The making of one pyramid took years and years but these little ATC's took a few hours over a couple of days.
It's a stamped image~ah! You thought it was a picture didn't you! (C'mon humour me) and guess what I coloured them with? (wet cellery?) No...wrong... gel pens ...yes ...And not your expensive ones either. One was metallic, another had glitter and smelt of raspberries..(Why? I don't know!)
I made one for a forum swap (over on CardmakingPapercraft) and it'll be flying all the way to Pakistan tomorrow. I was only going to do the one but found the colouring in so therapeutic, I just kept going!
I guess he's supposed to be Tutankhamum (Or Tutankhamen as blogger wants to spell it) came in a set of three, The Pharaoh, The Eye and some script writing, bought from my local (not really a craft) shop, for around £7, which I didn't think was too bad, and the paper was a pressie from Tom (son-in-law) and came in a book of papers, so everything came together just right.
The first Pharaoh is the only one covered with Glossy Accents and keeps trying to lift up from the 3D foam squares that I've used to fix it to the card, so I left the others, with the exception of the one that's cut in half to make two ATC's and that's covered with 'gold shimmer' by Crown paint. (Not sure if it still made) I have a small matchpot and thought, I wonder what it would look like if I covered it in...this....well, you have to try these things, don't you.
Somewhere at the back of my mind (it's very dark in there) I can remember there's a challenge out there somewhere, involving script...now I wonder if any one would count hieroglyphics as script?? Hmm? Well, it was to the Pharaoh's and who am I to argue with them?

Harry Potter

Harry Potter fans will be lining the streets to see the latest film, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Okay BIG HINT ((Grin)))

My BIG HINT paid off and we went to see Harry Potter Wednesday evening. Most bookings were sold out but we managed to get in near the front after waiting for the next show. Loved the film of course but was a little disappointed. No Muggle Prime Minister, no Cornelius Fudge, no Dobey, no Dursleys, no extra Weasley brother's, no Madam Rosmerta, no 12 Grimmauld Place (which now belongs to Harry) no Kreacher, no Scrimgeour, no Crookshanks, no Fleur...so I guess there be no wedding in the next film. No Buckbeak, no fight in the castle with the Death Eaters and the other DA members, just as well, as Harry drank all the Felix potion (and didn't give them any). No mention that Harry was now the Captain of the Quidditch team, but then they never mention the others were prefects last time. Disappointingly we didn't get to see Crabbe and Goyle dressed up as girls either... and the 'thing' between Harry and Ginny just didn't happen. In fact, so much was missed out, I think if you hadn't read the book you'd wonder what was going on...
Can't wait for the DVD!!

Spyder's Corner: I Won Another Prize!
Sorry...I was playing with the links and this happened! I've noticed on many occasions that links from other blogs appear at the bottom of the comments page...sometimes from bloggers I know, and sometimes from bloggers I have no connection with at all, and wondered how??? I have no idea. (and it seems neither do the bloggers!) Not that I mind, of course, it gives me the chance to 'go visit' Anyway, while I'm here, I have won another prize!! Whoopeee! This time from Susies Die Cuts! for my Forever Friends card to Winnie. It seems Winnie has brought me Good Luck, twice! Pop over and have a look, there's another challenge already started, with lovely prizes, you might just be lucky too!

Peddle-Car Racing!

I've seen it all now. As I type this, my local town is closed off, to allow none other than a peddle car race! Whoopee... What? Yes, a peddle car race. I had visions of those little cars with push rods peddles, like the one I had when I was a child. (yes, the car had been invented then) or later, made out of wooden crates and bits of old bicycles and string, but I was in for a bit of a shock! Some of them were state of the art racers. Gleaming paint, flashes of gold and 'go faster' stripes!! And their drivers, who took turns in relays, were all determined to win, come what may!! With crys of "On your left!" or "On Your right" which was a polite way of saying to the slower racer in front, "Get out the B**** way! I'm coming through!"

The race started off at the traffic lights, zoomed down the high street to turn on a hair pin bend, back up the high street, with hay bales placed down the centre of the 'track' , a sharp left into the next road and then onto the the mini round-about and back towards the traffic lights, a sharp left to continue up the high street, another hair-pin bend and back down the high street past the traffic lights again. One Lap...They're still there now...like little bullets some of them...zooming round and round. There were a few upsets and rebounds off the hay bales, and the odd snapped chain, but all in all, a fun afternoon!
