Quirky Madison Comes For Christmas

And... at last, my latest DT card for Quirky Crafts, Mad Madison (Limited Runs) is coming for Christmas Dinner! Uninvited I should think!!
Weirdly, when I decided the theme to Quirky Craft's latest Challenge was going to be SNOW and Limited Runs was kindly sponsoring us, the first digi I thought of wasn't cute snowmen or fluffy carol singing puppies or angels, but Madison with her axe, and a vision of 'The Shinning' horror film came into my mind!
I usually like to colour Madison as a blonde but decided for this card she should be her normal self, black hair with blue hi-lights.
First, as the card on the post before this one, I covered the top half with blue spotty paper and then layered Madison and her 'snow' scene over the top.
Coloured her with Promarkers and used a silver gel pen and Stickles glitter on the axe on the outside, but found a Sakura metallic gelly-roll pen did a better job on the inside (of the second insert) added the sequin trees (using very thin foam pads) and the sentiment. I also added some Glossy Accents to her eyes, just to give them that mad glazed look! (They've cracked a little, but I don't think that matters!)
I couldn't decide on the wording to put on the inside of the card, so made these two this afternoon. Which one would you use??? I know, your family's not that mad!! Actually, it was only made for fun.... honest...!
The inside was quite easy even a little long winded. I did it on the computer just using Word (and the rest!) Ok, first put Madison into PaintNet (freebie) and added the words over her head, then printed it out, scanned it and then pasted and copied it to Word, where I made her bigger and tilted her a little...(page setting landscape) then added the Merry Christmas in a text box to the other side... then printed it out again and cut to size...see, told you it was a bit long winded! There's probably an easier way, like using My Craft Studio, or Photoshop, which I could have done but it's really slow on my computer and I wanted to get it done today, not next year! And in any case my tiny brain just shrivels up trying to work out what to do!
As I said, it's all coloured with Promarkers except the black hair in the insert, as Tom (S-I-L) has borrowed a few of my ProMarkers, black being one of them, to finish off his Christmas Cards, so I found my... (Trumpet dah dah da da!!!) Whisper pens, which haven't seen the light of day for about two years!)
The Font is freebie, it's called A Little Pot. Download it HERE or Google the name.
Ohoo nearly missed you! Another Quirky 'Snow' Card (Links to Freebie Papers and Font)

Hi everyone. This is the third DT card I made for this fortnights 'Snow' challenge over on Quirky Craft's Challenge blog. The image, little Sophia making Angel Wings, was kindly supplied by our sponsors, Paper Pretties
The freebie spotty paper I downloaded years ago (Luckily I write on all my printed out downloads to remind me where I found them and where they've been saved on my computer...ohh I sound sooo organized! (not!) otherwise I'd never remember!) from Free Digital Scrapbooking called Muted Spring Painted Blue Dots and is still available. HERE (stay awhile, click on their sidebar to find more freebies)
First I printed the image out twice leaving enough 'white' below one to act as the 'snow' and also printed the 'Let It Snow' sentiment under it. I used the wavy insert in WordArt. (You can make it 'wave' a lot more)
The Font is a freebie it's called Thread Fun, and you can download it HERE (or Google the name)
I coloured the image with ProMarkers. Covered the top half of the card with the spotty paper then the white paper with the image, after cutting it into a 'snowy' shape along the top. Glued it in place with PhotoGlue.
I cut out the other image as close to the edges as I could, cutting off the scarf and hat trimmings (as you'll be able to see them from the image below it) I fixed this over the first image with silicone glue so it pops up a bit, added a smidgen of Liquid Appliqué to act as the 'hollowed' out snow. Here's a Liquid Appliqué Youtube video.
The gems, tree and snowflakes are from my stash. Lastly I added a touch of Stickles glitter and the die cut corners.
You can just see a pair of mittens inside the card, also from Paper Pretties.
I hope your Monday went well. I managed to get through the day without forgetting to do too many things...although I did forget I'd been invited to watch a Nativity play staged at our local primary school. Luckily after a reminding phone call, I nipped round to watch it. Sooo different from when my two were doing their Nativity plays. The story was told in the eyes of all the animals that lived in or around the stable...so of course there were cats, dogs, mice, cows, sheep, goats, donkeys, camels, pigs, doves and cockrels and.... well you get the picture!! No octopuses though! That's it for now! My last Quirky 'snow' DT card coming up next....not your usual Christmas card! Thanks for stopping by!

It's Quirky Snowing...

Hello!! This is my second DT card this Sunday for the challenge over on Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog. (I know...I nearly fainted too!) It's was my turn to set the theme and decided it should be something very easy. Snow!
I used one of our sponsors digi's Little Tree by Limited Runs. Coloured with Promakers (of course)
Backing Papers. I've used 'Cosy Collection Papers', which came free from Quick Cards made Easy Magazine issue 93. (worth clicking the link, you won't find these papers but you will find links to other freebie papers. You may have to 'sign in') I've layered the papers onto matt silver card. I used Nestabilities Scalloped Circles and a Martha Steward border punch, plus some red reindeer ribbon from DoCrafts and grey/silver eyelash wool from my stash. I've also used Liquid Appliqué on the tree...I love the way that stuff bubbles up when you heat it. The Large snowflake I bought on line years ago...I think I had a bag of 50 of them! (49 to go!) I added some micro glitter to it and there's also some micro glitter on the little girls clothing. Her buttons have a 'smidging' of red Stickles glitter.
The sentiment was made on my laptop so therefore The font is a freebie. I'm sure I've linked it before, it's called Cute Pop, which you can down load HERE or Google the name.
I've had Emma and Tom (daughter and S-I-L) here today... making their Christmas Cards, so it's been quite a crafty afternoon! Wish I'd taken some pictures!
New Follower! Hi and a big ((wave)) to Manderly who I'm sure will start her blog soon!! Thank you for following! Monday tomorrow...I type that just to remind myself! Thanks for stopping by!

There's Snow Time For Quirkiness!

I think everyone must be out Christmas shopping in Blogland it's very quite today! (and yesterday, and the day before and the day before that...) Where is everyone? Hello!!! Well, whether you're there or not, it's time for another Quirky Crafty's Challenge! This time it's my turn to set the theme...and I've chosen...
SNOW!
Which means of course we wanna see some snow!! It can be a Christmas card or a birthday card, scrapbook page, ATC, Fat Page, altered art, in fact, anything crafty you can add snow to. Easy!
I've made four DT cards for this challenge. I shall post them all separately, mainly because I was hoping to beat my last years postings, alas it doesn't look like I'm going to achieved that this year..but you never know, if they find chocolate on Mars, then, anything could happen!
This time we're sponsored by Limited Runs and Paper Pretties so that means two lots of prizes! Yay!!
I've used both sets of images I was sent.
Here's my first card: I've used this cute and rather quirky Snowman from Limited Runs! Coloured with...well, I've used red, black and pastel blue ProMarkers. (so not much colouring!)I cut the icicles out with scissors as I don't have a border icicle punch (*hint!!) There's some micro glitter on his scarf to make it sparkle. I printed out two digi's, embossed the first one with snowflakes and then cut out the second (minus his stick arms) and fixed him over the top with silicone glue.
The papers are from a paper pack called Snowed in Winter papers by My Minds Eye, free from Card Making and PaperCraft a little while ago.
The inside printed backing paper, Let it Snow, was a freebie  from  Madabout cards (who have now closed....try Printable Heaven)
The Font is called Cream and Sugar
New Followers!! Hi and a big wave to Carole Sweeny busy with Christmas makes and a WOYWW fan and Tracy who has some gorgeous jewellery over on her blog!
That's it for now...more posts coming up later with my other Quirky DT cards or pop over to the challenge blog to see them, as well as all the other fabulous DT makes. Thanks for stopping by!

FlashBack Friday...My Very First Owl

This was my very first Owl card I made way back in 2009. It was a birthday card for a forum buddy. (She liked Owls) It was a freebie form Monica's, although I can't find it over there now as she has removed a lot of her 3D pages, but it's still worth a visit for other freebies. I printed this 3D Owl image onto glossy photo paper and used these freebie backing papers HERE
To see the original post click here Why not go and find the very first Owl card you posted on your blog and join in?! If any one downloaded one of my owls, I'd love to see him! Thanks for stopping by!

All Warm and Mousey

This card has taken me all week to get started. Honestly, I really wanted to have finished all my Christmas cards by now, not starting them! (Admittedly it took me all the week before to get the stamps fixed onto the Kling-On!)
I've used the House Mouse Image, with the little mices keeping warm around a candle. Coloured with ProMarkers with a little added glitter gel pen and Stickles glitter glue. The papers I used were from a free pack from Card Marking and Paper Craft Magazine a little while back, called Snowed In, by My Minds Eye. I've also used my TM Elegant Flourishes. The little sentiment came from Stamping Up, two Christmas's ago! (I'm on a mission to use up ''stuff' I've had for ages and not used! )
At first I didn't have any snowflake flowers on the card at all and now I've put them on, I'm thinking the fern leaves should've been green, to add a bit more colour...but it's never not too late to change!
New Followers! Yay!! Hi and a big ((wave)) to Sandra How, Sandy, Marimer, Susanne and Gail! I'll add your links later...just realised my clock's stopped and I should be somewhere else!! Thanks for stopping by!
