Training My New Dog Walker!

Niamh's growing up so fast,  I thought I'd train her as one of my new dog walkers!
 "Come on Benson hurry up!"

This is me telling her not to rap the lead around her hand
"Go! Go!" sez Niamh!

Happy Birthday Mason-Rain

Happy Birthday Mason Rain ! Five today!! He's growing up soooooo fast! Is it really five years ago since we stayed in Seattle when he was born?? I made this little zoo book last year ready to send on later but ended up making something completely different about dogs...didn't take a picture. I've added another felt lion to the front of this and another zebra too, but  again, I forgot to take a picture! Never mind. Sometimes I send stuff out to the USA and it comes back, so if it does, I'll take the picture then! Haven't shown you a pic of Mason for ages....so's here's one of him and his mum, Maria. Aw, miss you much!

Quirky Leaves and Autumn Colours The Finished Card.

Our 20th Challenge this year over on the Quirky Crafts Challenge blog, (which started yesterday) is set by Monica. Fall, or Autumn as we call it here. I was late again and didn't finish my card til Monday, so if you scroll down you'll see I was almost on time and had actually started my card (printed out the digi!) and this is how it turned out! It's a nice easy challenge so we hope to see you there!
I placed, then printed Pumpkin Swirls from Kaz Kraft (Stitchy Bear our sponsor) over some freebie papers from PaperCrafts Inspirations Magazine. I've 3D-ed the pumpkins, coloured with Promarkers and added Stickles Glitter, ribbon and punched out leaves.
Although Stitchy Bear sent us some lovely papers to use and my phone downloaded them, my old computer couldn't find them so with time fast running out, I opted for some leaves and *pumpkins papers (*saved as jhosFord-cutepumpkin-bg8 and luckily already printed out!) which I found whilst hunting through my folders. Most likely freebies from Scrapwow years ago.
The orange ribbon and the die cut letters to make the Autumn sentiment came from a tin case set of mostly orange ribbon, cords,  threads, diecuts and beads from Laura Ashley. (Years old, never used them!)
I've also added a stamp by Hero Arts (E2322) along the top of the card using an autumn scene in aged mahogany Distress Ink, which I also used to colour the larger punched out leaves, plus orange and green Promarkers. As you can see I've left the inside blank with just the leaves backing paper. I think that's it! Only one of these pictures has Glitter on it...bet you didn't notice! Thank you for stopping by!

It's A Quirky Autumn Challenge...

Okay...I'm out of time again. So....just it case I don't get back, I've taken pictures of my DT Quirky Craft's card as I've made it. This Challenge is Monica's idea and she'd love to see, Autumn themed creations with falling leaves and all the colours that go with that!
Here's my first picture of what will end up being my DT card! (You're rubbish Lyn...I Know!) Our Sponsor is Stitchy Bear. I've used this pumpkin corner Digi by Kaz Kraftz. Pumpkin Swirls.
I've teamed it up with some freebie papers from PaperCrafts Inspirations Magazine.
As I type this, I've got as far as layering it onto some orange card. The next layer may be black....but it could turn out to be brown...probably brown...embossed... with gold...(My mind's thinking up ideas as I watch the clock!) Anyway, must go. I haven't coloured it yet, but that with be done a.s.a.p., using Promarkers. As you can see, there's more pumpkin pictures to use, so I'm also going to make the pumpkins 3D. I'll also have a spare orange background pumpkin, which I could use inside or use if I colour the first one wrong! Watch this space!! (Or not....scroll up!) meanwhile, go see what the Design Team have come up with. Fantastic!! Back Later! (tomorrow)

Another Quick Quirky Challenge Reminder

Here's my third DT card for the Quirky Summer Memories Challenge, which is in it's last week...
I'm using up anything I can find as my printer still thinks it's out of ink! The swimming Monkey is  from Bugaboo and was already coloured in ages ago with Promarkers. I've also 3D-ed him to make him pop out.
The die cut sun...well I have no idea where that came from! I do have a sun but I'm sure it's bigger than that! (Never used it! Or perhaps I have and can't remember) There was a smiley sun drawn in in the background but for some reason I cut it out. (why?) I have no idea!
The beachy backing paper is all by PinkPetticoat, the sentiment was a freebie rub-on from a Craft Mag, the ribbon and the Seahorse charm are from my stash. There's also a little bit of stickles glitter glue.
Yes....I can remember wearing arm bands and trying to swim....sunk like a brick... and still do! Come and join in! I'll add this to last Sundays Quirky reminder too! Thanks for stopping by!!

A Quirky Summer Reminder!

I was soooo sure this was on timer! Anyway, I'm back from a week away in Cornwall. Plugged the computer back in its place, hunted out the camera, and here's my DT card for the reminder of my Quirky Challenge, Summer Memories. Great Sponsors, Bugaboo and Digital Delights!
I was going to do use this little fishing monkey  last week, but didn't  have time to 'play' with the digi as I needed two monkeys in the boat!  There's a story here you see.... Hubby and our late bother in law, Alistair (The monkeys in the boat) went fishing with our girls, who soon became bored. So the guys came back and set off again, heading out to sea and the Old Harry Rocks, leaving me and Hubby's sister Debbie with the girls.
Well it wasn't long before we noticed something very odd happening....the boat was getting lower wnd lower in the water and slowing sinking! No amount of us yelling and waving made any difference... John and Alistair waved back but kept rowing!. The little boat was double skinned you see, so they couldn't see any water coming in and didn't notice the boat slowly getting lower and lower in the sea!
Luckily in the end, they did and quickly started rowing back...the little boat sank just metres from the shore and had to be pulled in. We still have the little boat, it stands in a corner at the bottom of my garden. I turned it into a seat with flowers...entered a picture of it into the Gardeners World Magazine and won some lovely garden furniture!  So in a way that hot summers day, lives on, everyday!By the way, they did catch some fish...but  they 'got away!'
The card. All the papers are by PinkPetticoat. (Very beachy!) The image is from a Bugaboo. I've added an extra monkey, 3D-ed them and coloured with Promarkers. Added an anchor  charm on some cord, three red gems, a little Stickles glitter and folded strips of paper to look like ribbon. The sentiment is a rub on. That's it! Go join in over on Quirky Crafts! Thank you for stopping by!

It's Quirky Time For Summer Memories!

Hi Peoples, I'm not here at all this week, so for once my DT card for the Quirky Crafts Challenge isn't late! It's on timer, and set to go! So...if you're not reading this... it didn't! Oops! Anyway, it's definitely on the challenge blog! Maybe I should be away more often. This fortnight it's
my turn to set theme. We're sponsored by...
Bugaboo and Digital Delights!
so I've chosen, because I'm away sunning myself (hopefully) I'd like to see some of your...
Quirky Summer Memories
I was brought up on a farm/s so most of the time I played in the hay building camps, scrumped for apples, made dams in the river or fished for minos, but quite often the mums would gather up us kids and take us down to the beach where we'd spend nearly every day of the Summer Holidays just messing about with sand and seaweed!
Instead of using a little monkey in a boat, which had other memories... I chose to use these five Bugaboo digi's to make a beach scene.
I've 3D-ed three of them to make them pop. I've added orange eyelash wool and punched out crabs using a small Woodware punch. (The one on the monkey's ear is there to cover up a smudge)
The papers were free from a Crafty Mag some time ago, (You can just see a surf board on the inside) The font I used is a freebie, called Brush Script MT. You probably already have it, if not just Google the name.
Well, that's it! You have two weeks to join in and show us a few of your summer memories! Pop over to Quirky Crafts! Thanks for stopping by!

A Quirky Late Reminder...more Red Red Wine...

OMG We're already galloping through September, where have I been!? It was still August yesterday! (No it wasn't Lyn) I'm sooo behind I'm not sure where I should start, so... I'll have to forget last Wednesday and start with last Sunday instead, which should have been Quirky Crafts Reminder, all about...red and grapes and red and wine and even more red and people drinking it! Pop (No wine!) over and have a look, you still have a few days to join in.
Even though it's my latest DT card ever, I'll still add it to last weekends post.
So here's my make. Very quick and simple as I have no time!! I love that ribbon and nearly every card I make almost gets it suck on a corner, only to be taken off again, but this time I think I leave it there!
I've used the glass, from our sponsors, Crackerbox Palace. I'd already coloured it on the computer for the first challenge but didn't use it, so decided to just tipped two together in Word and add a sentiment, and once printed out, coloured them again with Promarkers. I  made the  'Congratulations!' sentment using a freebie font called 'Adorable'
The papers are are actually  Christmas papers by docraft Papermania 'Home For Christmas'. Love them coz they're nice and thick! 180gsm. That's it, must go...loads to do!!!! thanks for stopping by!!
