I'm Going Around in Quirky Circles!

Evening everyone! yes, I am...going round in circles, so seeing it's my turn to set the theme over on Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog I thought it would be nice if everyone else was too! That's my Challenge. I want to see circles on any crafty project you create! They can be embossed, die-cuts, half circles, whole circles, tiny circles, BIG circles. Any kind of circle; circle shapes,  circle cards, lots of circle's or just one, as long as there's a circle or circles on your creation, (and yes! Dots are circles too!)
This fortnight, over at Quirky Crafts, we're sponsored by  Crackerbox Palace.
The Design Team (and guests)  have been given a few digi's to play with. I chose this little bird house with leaves (also comes as a stamp) and the tweety bird. (I've flipped one of them around the other way)
Although it's not very clear in the main pictures, I've started off using backing papers with a circular patten. (You can see that clearer on the inside picture) All the papers are freebies from Sherry K.Designs
(you'll find more freebies there and a few to buy too!)

I found a nice thick piece of brown/tan card from my stash, (was looking for something completely different) folded it (scored it with my bone folder....yes, I found it!) and then cut it down in size to about four and a half by five and three quarters inches. (Why? So I could use the cut off bit to fix the ribbon to.) Covered the card in the circle patterned paper after inking the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I found a cogg die-cut already cut out in some other backing paper (it has writing on it) not sure where that came from, but the colour fitted in well, so I added the bird paper (printed smaller) behind it. Then punched out those little birds....but my punch kept jamming, (Grrrr) so I ended up using the inner circle from a cogg die-cut and layered them on circles coloured with the same colour Promarker I used on the house.
The blue brads are to make you think they're fixed to the card that way, but there's a 3D fold pad behind them.
I've flipped one of the birds the other way then added a few  more circles from the same paper set. I printed out the little bird The 'Home' ribbon is from Papermania and those round letters spelling out 'New' came from a mixed set by Laura Ashley.house a feThe brown ribbon under it, is recycled. Can't remember where it came from but it has the words Royal Jelly on the other shiny side.w times, coloured with Promarkers and 3D-ed it.
In side the card, I've added the bird paper again (a little bigger this time) and  the circle pattern again, which is also a little bigger and that lovely die-cut came free with an order I made a little while ago.(must get that die!)
Anyway, before I bore you to death... that's it, finished. Easy! So don't forget to join in over on Quirky Crafts. I'll be watching out for you!  Sorry if the pictures aren't quite as focused as they usually are, I had to use my phone, as once again, I have no batteries for my camera! (Yep... I checked the TV remote....wrong size!) That's it! Thank you for stopping by!

New Quirky Challenge Coming Up Soon...Sneek Peek!

My challenge starts over on the Quirk Crafts Challenge Blog later this evening...and, guess what, I've actually made a card, taken it's photo and added  it to the post. Honestly! It meant staying up all night! What a mess I've made! Must go clear up, people coming for lunch...
Oh....here's the sneak peak... it'll be a really easy challenge, coz I can't do hard!! But it has nothing to to with birds... well...not really!
Later today pop over to Quirky Crafts to see who won last weeks challenge...
There's no freebie link here....but there will be one to the papers I've used on the next post!

Second Wednesday Digi - On A Saturday!closed

Missing you all! Still haven't found a way of making more time! Thank you for stopping by! closed

This Weeks Digi (On A Saturday?) CLOSED

Sorry about missing freebies. Couldn't be helped, unless of course I had one of them Harry Potter Time Turners! Very quick freebie for you. I made him after finding a paper bag frog I made a hundreds years ago when I used to do Play School. The idea was the children could wear them as masks or,  using a smaller bag, use them as puppets!  A comment would be lovely! I'm missing blog land!! So a very big thank you to everyone who still stops by! CLOSED

A Reminder about Those Quirky Mystical Ladies

Sorry! Haven't had time to change this post. What with hospital appointments, dentist and dogs!!! Scrap and forget what I typed before as this lovely Fairy it no longer available at Stitchy, (who are our wonderful sponsors for this challenge) soooo I can't use her as my DT card, which also means I have no time to make another. Never mind! If I can find a way to 'cheat' I will!
The Mystical Ladies challenge is still going on, so there's still time to join in! You of course can use any Mystical lady you like!
Okay....The picture is more 'glarey' than fairy, but that's because the mirror paper reflected the light so much. I've also used my die-cuts and embossing folders, as well as punches. The silver shinny paper you can see, is actually sticky back (great for die-cuts) but I didn't realise that until I'd stuck it on...and  a while later it fell off leaving the lining well and truly stuck! I've even used the waste lining too. (the white cog's inside)
The lovely black card with the silver snowflakes came from a crafty shop ages ago. I only had one sheet so had to add plain black card inside. (but I do have it in other colours and will use it again)
I was going to 3D the fairy- but run out of time (Have to be up early in the morning and it's now...just gone one I should be snoring!) so decided there was already enough layers.
She has glitter on her wings fixed on by using a Quicky Glue pen and she's been coloured using different shades of ice grey Promarkers.
The little sentiment 'Dream' comes from a sheet by Craft Creations, which I've been using a lot lately. Very useful! Must get some more! I've used one of my favourite card shapes, where you cut half the back off, turn it round and then fix a smaller card on the front. (still not sure what they're called.) I started trying to load these pictures around eleven o'clock tonight and they've only just up loaded, blogger must be very busy! Well that's it for now. Thank you for stopping by! And sorry about my big mistake! I hope to add this to some...

At last Some....Quirky Mythical Ladies!

Evening, morning! This is a very quick post coz I'm hoping to sneak in without anyone noticing!  Here's my very very late DT card for Quirky Crafts challenge #23 "Quirky Mythical Ladies" which started last Sunday. Kemley is hosting this theme and it's her first challenge so pop over and say hi!! and of course join in!!
 Kemley would love to see...
Mermaids, elves, warriors, fairies, goddesses, nymphs etc. They make different choices, they star in many stories in different cultures. Those stories are filled with magic, love, faith, hope and fantasy.  kemley invites you to dream and create a project with these mythical ladies!
Stitchy Bear are our sponsors, so some lovely prizes for our winners!
Here' my card, Sorry Kemley for being so late! This week has been manic...(is that a word?) anyway, enough of that and back to the card...Everything has been inked and disdressed....including me!
I've printed this fairy image by Floppy Latte Designs called Fairy Moon over some snowflakes by PinkPetticoat. (In side I've used blue stars) Layered it up over more of the same snown flakes, in white, added some sticky lace bought from Trago Mills last time I was down in Cornwall. (Love Trago Mills)  added two corner die-cuts in silver miri card, and two silver edged die-cut sentiments (a tiny fairy and the word 'Dream') from a sheet by Craft Creations.
I've also added tiny snowflake punched out shapes and loads of Stickles Glitter glue, along with some white Eye-lash wool...
I'll add this to last weeks challenge post over on Quirky...but you might see it on this weeks reminder post too...as I'm not sure where I'll be! Well, that's it, that's my Mythical Lady.. ...a fairy.... or are they? You could say,  most of the time, I'm away with the fairies...

Quirky Charades? Is it a book, a film or a Song?

It's a Song and I'm home! Three weeks sitting on dogs... and a whole week with no blogging. That must be a first. The dogs we've been looking after have their 'mummy and daddy' back and any minute now, I'll be in my lovely bed, but, no peace for the wicked, I must get this DT card out as it's really late this time.
Last Sunday, Quirky Craft's set a new challenge, thought up by Doris who wants us to play Quirky Charades, with, 'Is it a book, a film, or a song?' Yay!  Mine's a Song! (You've said that)
We're sponsored this time by Limited Runs, Paper Pretties and Robyn's Fetish, so there'll be some yummy prizes!
I've used a digi from Limited Runs, this cute Little Santa. And my song?? I had to do simple or my brain just might explode! "Let It Snow," of course!
I started off putting the little Santa over my own Snowy paper, colouring him on the computer and then printing him off about four or five times so I could 3-D him.  I also printed the 'Let It Snow' sentiment under him at the same time.
The freebie font I used, is called Curlz MT, just Google the name. Santa's fixed together with silicone glue. He has three heads and two body's, one with no arms or boots...I've also added an extra nose and moustache. Aw, poor Santa!
He really could do with some stickles too... so I'll just go and add that!
I covered a blank card with some patterned silver card, added the topper to some too, then added blue and white snow flake paper by PinkPetticoat. I've used the some PinkPetticoat Papers inside too. Then fixed on some white eye-lash wool.
The large snowflake is recycled, although the original gem was smaller. I had a sheet of  silver edged die-cut sentiments by Craft Creations, (They're going to be very useful!) and added  'Let it Snow' and a silver edged snowflake. The other tiny snowflakes were punch out with a Woodware Punch. I used the white card waste from the sentiments, see, said they'd be useful! (I throw nothing away!) Then I decided to add that corner die-cut and last but not least, Santa just had to have a fluffy pom-pom!
That's it I think... No, not quite... the last picture here shows Santa with a smidging of Stickles Glitter Glue on his hat and coat. Have to have a little bit of sparkle on a Christmas card! Pop over to Quirky Crafts and join in, the team have made some fabulous creations!

Quirky Framing It With A Potty Wizard!

Here's my third card for the Frame it! Challenge going on over on Quirky Crafts. We're sponsored by The East Wind and Bugaboo, so of course I just had to use this Harry Potter Digi from Bugaboo!
Harry and his owl has been coloured using ProMarkers. I've also 3D-ed them, Harry has three heads!
I made him a PNG so I could put the PinkPetticaot snowflake paper behind the frame so it would show through and it saves colouring and looks like Harry's standing in the snow! Harry's glasses have had a spot of Glossy Accents added.
The main paper, or card I've used, coz it's very thick,  came from a TV craft programme some years ago (One of the first things I ever bought!) and this is the first time I've used it. The colours just seemed to match (so glad I remembered I had it!)  I covered the blank card with  the green wizard card first and then cut out a wiggly 'frame' from the dark blue card and fixed that on using 3D foam squares along with the topper.
You can just see the inside, where I've used more star paper, again I've had this years, and by the 'feel' of it it's by Papermania. (Ok....I'm a paper freak)  I've added the gold stars using silicone glue. I've also added Stickles Glitter and a tiny pompom.
The sentiment I added when it was all on the computer, 'Witching You A Wizard Birthday!' The freebie font is called Wizards Magic in bold. Google the name, it's free on most sites, for personal use only.
That's it I think!  If I can find time from dog sitting and walking my usual team, I really hope I can add this to some Challenges! Thank you for stopping by!

Quirky Well Frame it! Reminder Challenge

Hi guys! Here I am with my second DT card for the latest challenge reminder over on Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog! I didn't quite have time to finished it and add it to last weeks Quirky post, as I'm still away. I've another two weeks of sitting on dogs!
The theme of the challenge, thought up by Cazzy, is Frame It! I've used a digi from The East Wind called Lucy-Loo-mirror mirror   I love the cat mirror! And not too much of a spooky person coming out of that frame! A bit of a cheat using a mirror frame, but it still counts!  I've coloured her with Promarkers, cut her out and mixed her on the 'shimmerest' miri card I  could find. Now, can anyone spot something missing? (I've only just noticed it.) Shhh! we won't mention it!! No one will notice...and I still have it. So I can stick it on later....
The frame around the digi was a freebie download years ago from, I think, Crafts Beautiful Magazine, copyright of Chris Warner. I've even found I had envelope liners that match, so I will use those too.
I've covered the frame it with Stickles glitter glue, also added purple eyelash wool, clear square gems and a purple corner die-cut with a few more flower shapes. That's it! Pop over and join in, you have all week! Look out for my next DT card coming up in another post. I'll add that to Quirky Crafts as soon as the glitter dries! Have a great weekend. Thank you for stopping by!

Frame It! It's Another Quirky Challenge!

The Challenge over on Quirky Crafts has already started. It's Cazzy's turn to set the theme. And she has chosen... Frame It!!
Our sponsors this time round are Bugaboo and The East Wind, so some fab prizes for first, second and third are up for grabs!
Here's one of my creations...done very quickly as I'm still away dog/house sitting and popped back home to give Jinx the cat a hug and some dinner!
I'll try and add the other card later....or use it for next weeks reminder!
I've cheated and used a Framed digi from Bugaboo. I've done a bit of 3D-ing but this time used foam pads instead of silicone glue.
The strippy paper I made by using the same colour Promarkers as I used to colour the digi .
The black card frame was going to be 3D-ed too, but I decided to stick it on, so I could 3D the digi topper.. The sentiment was done on the comuter. The freebie font is called Apple Boy BTN.
Hoping to add some challenges....but might not have time! Pop over to Quirky Crafts and join in! thank you for stopping by!

Happy Anniversary Tom And Emma!!

Happy Anniversary Emma and Tom! Goodness doesn't time fly! It doesn't seem that long ago I was showing you pictures of the wedding and then all the wedding invitations I made (That were featured in a crafty mag!) and then of course pictures of baby Niamh when she was first born!!
All that was six years ago! It was a lovely hot sunny day....not like today all wet with thunder and lightening! (although there were a few sunny bits!) Anyway.  I was thinking I'd see them this weekend but can't! Still sitting on dogs!!  Luckily I started making the card a few weeks back, but didn't finish it until today!
Here it is! I will tell you all about it later... but seeing I've nipped home from dog sitting to do this, I've now got to nip back again! The anniversary sentiment was done on the computer with a freebie font called  Holiday Springs BTN... better add that now, I'll never remember it later! Thank you for stopping by!! Have a great weekend!!

A Quirky Reminder about Autumn Falling Leaves...

Evening Peoples. I'm a bit late again. Here's my 2nd Quirky Crafts DT card for the Autumn Leaves Challenge, (added Monday) sponsored by Stitchy Bear.
This time I've used Standing Guard  digi stamp coz we all know, dogs want treats and I'm sure this dog thinks that scare-crow has some stuffed up his sleeve and any minute will give him some!
Everything was coloured with Promarkers, although the background was coloured on the computer. I've used up some of the scraps left over from last weeks card and a couple of sheets from 'Wellington' and 'Neighourwood' 6x6 paper stacks. (Green Oak leaves and oak leaves with acorns, (plus the pumpkin paper and autumn leaves from last week) I've edges all the papers with brown ink, used a small Woodware punch to cut out the tiny leaves, also added a bow, some eyelash wool, Stickles glitter glue, and some pumpkin buttons (with the backs cut off) all fixed on with silicone glue.
The sentiment was done on the computer using a Freebie Font called  Apple Boy BTN. (google the name if you haven't got it. I have linked it before, but can't any more. For some reason they don't like it) That's it! All you have to do now is pop over to Quirky Crafts and join in!! The challenge finishes Saturday...oh but make a card or any crafty thing first...autumnaly of course!

Happy Birthday Mason-Rain

Happy Birthday Mason Rain ! Five today!! He's growing up soooooo fast! Is it really five years ago since we stayed in Seattle when he was born?? I made this little zoo book last year ready to send on later but ended up making something completely different about dogs...didn't take a picture. I've added another felt lion to the front of this and another zebra too, but  again, I forgot to take a picture! Never mind. Sometimes I send stuff out to the USA and it comes back, so if it does, I'll take the picture then! Haven't shown you a pic of Mason for ages....so's here's one of him and his mum, Maria. Aw, miss you much!

Quirky Leaves and Autumn Colours The Finished Card.

Our 20th Challenge this year over on the Quirky Crafts Challenge blog, (which started yesterday) is set by Monica. Fall, or Autumn as we call it here. I was late again and didn't finish my card til Monday, so if you scroll down you'll see I was almost on time and had actually started my card (printed out the digi!) and this is how it turned out! It's a nice easy challenge so we hope to see you there!
I placed, then printed Pumpkin Swirls from Kaz Kraft (Stitchy Bear our sponsor) over some freebie papers from PaperCrafts Inspirations Magazine. I've 3D-ed the pumpkins, coloured with Promarkers and added Stickles Glitter, ribbon and punched out leaves.
Although Stitchy Bear sent us some lovely papers to use and my phone downloaded them, my old computer couldn't find them so with time fast running out, I opted for some leaves and *pumpkins papers (*saved as jhosFord-cutepumpkin-bg8 and luckily already printed out!) which I found whilst hunting through my folders. Most likely freebies from Scrapwow years ago.
The orange ribbon and the die cut letters to make the Autumn sentiment came from a tin case set of mostly orange ribbon, cords,  threads, diecuts and beads from Laura Ashley. (Years old, never used them!)
I've also added a stamp by Hero Arts (E2322) along the top of the card using an autumn scene in aged mahogany Distress Ink, which I also used to colour the larger punched out leaves, plus orange and green Promarkers. As you can see I've left the inside blank with just the leaves backing paper. I think that's it! Only one of these pictures has Glitter on it...bet you didn't notice! Thank you for stopping by!

It's A Quirky Autumn Challenge...

Okay...I'm out of time again. So....just it case I don't get back, I've taken pictures of my DT Quirky Craft's card as I've made it. This Challenge is Monica's idea and she'd love to see, Autumn themed creations with falling leaves and all the colours that go with that!
Here's my first picture of what will end up being my DT card! (You're rubbish Lyn...I Know!) Our Sponsor is Stitchy Bear. I've used this pumpkin corner Digi by Kaz Kraftz. Pumpkin Swirls.
I've teamed it up with some freebie papers from PaperCrafts Inspirations Magazine.
As I type this, I've got as far as layering it onto some orange card. The next layer may be black....but it could turn out to be brown...probably brown...embossed... with gold...(My mind's thinking up ideas as I watch the clock!) Anyway, must go. I haven't coloured it yet, but that with be done a.s.a.p., using Promarkers. As you can see, there's more pumpkin pictures to use, so I'm also going to make the pumpkins 3D. I'll also have a spare orange background pumpkin, which I could use inside or use if I colour the first one wrong! Watch this space!! (Or not....scroll up!) meanwhile, go see what the Design Team have come up with. Fantastic!! Back Later! (tomorrow)

Another Quick Quirky Challenge Reminder

Here's my third DT card for the Quirky Summer Memories Challenge, which is in it's last week...
I'm using up anything I can find as my printer still thinks it's out of ink! The swimming Monkey is  from Bugaboo and was already coloured in ages ago with Promarkers. I've also 3D-ed him to make him pop out.
The die cut sun...well I have no idea where that came from! I do have a sun but I'm sure it's bigger than that! (Never used it! Or perhaps I have and can't remember) There was a smiley sun drawn in in the background but for some reason I cut it out. (why?) I have no idea!
The beachy backing paper is all by PinkPetticoat, the sentiment was a freebie rub-on from a Craft Mag, the ribbon and the Seahorse charm are from my stash. There's also a little bit of stickles glitter glue.
Yes....I can remember wearing arm bands and trying to swim....sunk like a brick... and still do! Come and join in! I'll add this to last Sundays Quirky reminder too! Thanks for stopping by!!
