Email Entry #1 October Challenge from KerrMiya

KerrMiya has made this lovely ATC for the October digi Challenge, using one of my very first digi's!

It's WOYWW Time again already!

Another very short post from me this week, as again I'm not here. (am I ever?) Today's the day daughter and baby grandson, Mason go back to Money Creek, USA. (aw, too sad for words)
So!!! On my desk for this weeks What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, kindly hosted every week by the one and only Julia, is once again, very much what was on there last week - I've just shuffled it about a bit to make it look as though I've been busy, which, of course, I have ...I've just not made any cards! One ATC from a set of 5 or 6 still not finished and the same ol' easel card waiting very patiently to be put together (One day Thomas pigs will fly and we'll all carry umbrellas!) I'm beginning to like the over head shots, that way, you can't see the rest of the mess!!
So, if you feel the sudden urge to join in, take a picture of wherever you craft, no matter how small, untidy, or fabulously designer designed craft room it may be, (we promise not to throw tomatoes at you, if it's too posh!) and pop over to the Stamping Ground and join in, but be warned, it's very addictive!
New Followers! hi and a big ((wave)) Caroline Johnstone, and out the back and in the dark, there's Alamom, and Wilsonp58, all with no links.

** the larger Spiderweb paper on my desk is part of a fabulous scrap-booking set by Summer Driggs, you can download it for free HERE
Sorry You Missed this weeks freebie, there will be a new one on the latest Wednesday's post.

Another Quirky Recipe!

Quirky Craft's Challenge has started over on the challenge blog. This fortnight's Challenge is a recipe set by Anne better known as Chocolate Fudge Cake...(ohooo now I'm hungry, I really fancy a Nutella sandwich...and seeing I'm typing this at 1.30 in the morning there's no chance of that!!) right..the challenge is for you to make something crafty, (of course) it can be anything, so long as you follow the recipe, it's okay to add a few more things if you like, (old tyres and hobnailed boots, might not be such a good idea though, keep it simple!)
Recipe
Two different types of gold (ie paper, card, embellishments, ribbon etc)
One patterned paper
One length of ribbon
One stamped image
Colour scheme red and gold

For my Card I've chosen a Forever Friends stamped image, which I received in a swap last year, (coloured with ProMarkers of course!) some Forever Friends paper from their A5 pack, 'Santa's On His Way'. Some gold miri board that has been embossed, a patterned gold card for the base and some gold cord (can't really see it) and a red sentiment ribbon from my stash (which I received from a crafty FaceBook swap some years ago) I've also added red and gold brads and some fern leaves cut from my MS punch and finished off with Stickles Glitter.
That's it! Pop over to see who our favourite was for the last challenge and the lovely project made by our guest designer, Joanna, then come and join in...I'll be back later to fill in a few more things that I've forgotten and add some challenges too! BFN!!

WOYWW? A bit Of A Mess

Every week I promise to tidy up and every week, Wednesday suddenly appears and I haven't tidied up at all, just pushed the last mess back a bit further! Morning everyone!! Happy WOYWW!! As usual, I'm not here and this is on timer...(Hopefully!)
On my desk this week is, my new Martha Stewart bat corner punch (half price!) the left overs from the card I made over the weekend and a card I'm in the middle of making, or have been in the middle of making for ages now, a pencil drawing of a lovely little cutie, I'm doing for the winner of my latest didi digi challenge (not finished yet) Also, the Forever Friends clear stamps that Tom was using to make Emma an anniversary card over the week end.(aw, no I didn't get a picture!) He even scored and folded the card using my Crafter's Companion, did a bit of stamping with the two different Penny Black stamps you can just see in the picture and used the words from the Forever Friends packet and heat embossed it all too, coloured everything in with Promarkers, then found my pots of flowers and fixed a few of them on as well, using brads. He's becoming quite an expert!
Not much is happening craft-wise as Mum-in-law is still in hospital and most of the afternoons are spent getting in to see her. But best of all, Maria and baby grandson Mason will be flying in on Friday!! (yay!!)
New Follower, ((wave)) to Lisa, with no link so we can't pop over and say hi (aw) Have a great WOYWW everyone, and if you feel the urge to join in, and snoop on some fabulous like-minded mad crafter's, I mean, craft mad crafty people, why not pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground! and sign in! Thank you for stopping by.

Why not join in with the latest October Digi Challenge!

10/10/10...it has to be Spooky Quirky!

Well, with the date being the 10th of the 10th 2010, it had to be spooky didn't it! As it's something that's not going to happen again for a very long time. (Ok...but will 11/11/11/ be spookier, I wonder?) I was going to put this up at 10 to 10, but thought better of it. Well, I don't want to tempt fate as I've already had my car break down three times this last fortnight. First, the gears changer thingy went 'crunch', which meant no gears. Just got that fixed when the long bit with the bolt and spilt pin came undone, leaving only third, fourth and fifth gears, but no reverse or first. It's surprising how many right hand turns on hills that suddenly appear when you're trying to get home! And then, yesterday....the exhaust fell off...I sounded like a boy racer. Fabulous!! (but very noisy!) So, that's the three, hopefully no more please!! Oh, I forgot, yes, it's still drenching me in water every time I go round a left hand bend...
So as you may have already guessed, it's that Quirky time again. Quirky Craft's new Challenge has started over on the challenge blog.
This time round Caro has set us a sketch.. and here it is. Nice and easy! So, all you have to do is make something crafty, anything you chose, (it doesn't have to be spooky!) anything from altered art, atc's, tags, scrapbook pages, to journals and of course cards, as long as you follow the sketch, (or there abouts!) then pop over to Quirky Crafts and join in. This week Caro is putting up some Crafty goodies for the winner!
My DT card it's approx 8x8 and is for a young friend who has a birthday right at the end of October, so she just has to have a spooky card. (will add inside pictures later) I've used mostly Pink Petticoat papers and fast becoming my favourite Halloween Penny Black stamp (as it's the only one I've got!) "Trick or Treat" Coloured the image with Promakers and did a bit of decoupage and!!! used my latest MS buy, a bat corner punch, which was half price! (sorry, there was only the one!) I added three black eyelets and then tied some black and purple eyelash wool through them, not sure why, it seemed a good idea at the time! I wrote the 'Boo!' But the font I used for, 'Too Cute to Spook' is a freebie, it's called Horros (you even get a little duck with it!) and you can download it HERE and for loads of other lovely horror fonts go HERE
I still think the card needs something else, maybe a bit of Stickles glitter?
That's it for now, thank you for stopping by... I had some challenges in mind, but seem to have missed most of them! (boo!) but here's a few more I found...

Happy Second Anniversary.

It's Tom and Emma's (Daughter and Son-in-law) second wedding anniversary on Monday. Emma likes simple cards. I don't think I can get much simpler than a Forever friends Decoupage with the matching papers. I won this set along with a few other yummy goodies from Cardmaking and Paper Craft Magazine for being their subscriber of the month a little while ago. I've just added a dash of Stickles glitter, some pink corner peel-offs and a few gems. Not a good photo even with my 'day light' bulb. You can't really beat the real daylight can you.
Back later with (hopefully) a Quirky sneak peak...Has any one noticed tomorrow's date? 10/10/10... spooky!

Thursday 7 October 2010

Happy Anniversary Deb & Alistair!

I have a couple of anniversary cards to do this month and this is the first. Sis-in-law, Deb, spotted me doing a bit of stamping this afternoon (in the kitchen) when she popped in to give hubby a lift up to the Hospital. 'Oho I like that one', she said, pointing to some singing cats. and so, while they zoomed off to see their mum, I made Deb and her hubby Alistair, an anniversary card as it's their anniversary today! (which was quite handy really!)
Not the normal card for an anniversary, singing cats, but they do like cats. They have two. Bruce and Wallace. No prize for guessing where Alistair comes from!
I've used Pink Petticoat papers. I've had these for ages, and can't ever remember ever using them. I've inked the edges with a bit of blue chalk ink, added faux stitching and Stickles glitter. The cats were stamped out twice, coloured with Promarkers and then 3D-ed. (that way you still keep the whiskers!)
The sentiments were all done on the computer. The fonts are all freebies. The 'me-ow' is called DayDream. The cats are singing 'Happy Anniversary to you-ooo' and that font is called Ck_alis_hand_Official and the sentiment I've used inside the card is called Huntson and the image inside the card is from Pepper and Friends, so cute!

WOYWW- now!

Oh wow! What's on my workdesk Wednesday?? Right now...This!!
I've never done woyww on the trot before! Which means, this is now and not midnight last night or four o'clock this morning, it's live at eight!!! Sorry about bad spelling, wonky doodles, dark photo's and other mistakes-will change them later!
Craft room? very messy! Things just 'thrown in' out of the way. Big sheet of purple card got sat on by one of our visiting cats last week. (they've gone home now)
Dining room table, just as messy, if not worse... Harry Potter review. (Hubby got me that) Not long to wait for the new film. Writers Magazine, always useful, if you write! And of course PaperCraft Essentials Mag. (I fancied the freebie papers this month)
Small cleared space? Start of easel card that's been there for nearly two weeks...waiting!!

Want to join in the biggest blog hop in the entire World?? Hop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and join in! back later!!

*Afternoon! I'm back, and oh what a day I've had! Car gears 'went' again (arrgh!) Hubby came to the rescue and drove it back with no first, second, fifth or reverse gears! But you don't want to hear about that! (note to self, back brake light doesn't work-I followed in his car)

One Day Freebie #3. Santa Forgets

One day freebie #3. This was one of my very (very) old cartoons, designed to be a little larger than the size of a fancy postage stamp once it was reduce for the comic page of a newspaper. Not a terrific drawing, as they didn't do colour back then, (they liked a lot of black) but I just know someone out there can make something out of... 'Santa Forgets....'

Sorry if you missed this one day digi, look out for the new one...

Font used in this cartoon is also a freebie, it's called Jane Print and you can download it here
