A Quirky Reminder to Pile it High Layer it Up! Try some 3D!

I know, I'm probably late... even with three posts a week I'm finding it hard to find the time to squeeze anything on to my blog! But here I'm am to let you know there's still another week to join in with my challenge over on Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog, and as the title says, we want to see Piles of Laying and 3D-ing, which is my fav, so that's why I chose it! It's easy-peazy just get out all those  lovely bits you've not used and add them to your creation!
Here's my make.... (As I type this I have no idea what's going to be here....so you can miss this bit as it's only me waffling!)
I decided to make a box for the card I made last week. It wouldn't fit into it's envelope, so it seemed like a good idea to make a box. It's not a very good box, so don't look too closely! I used my old Crafters Companion. Inside there's scoring lines to make a box and box lid but it never came with instructions and the cutter inside never worked, probably because one of the hinges was broken, but on saying that, it was brilliant at scoring all those wedding cards I made years ago. There's no way I could have done so many without it! (it was a freebie for subscribing to a crafty magazine, which is why I never sent it back) Anyway, I guessed what size I needed and this is what I came up with; a basic black box with loads of layers and embellishments.
I've used almost the same  papers and card colours as I used last week, the backing paper actually being freebies from the same mag years ago, only I've used a few more of the paper embellishments and added a tiny bit of washi tape, some yellow foam shapes, which just happened to be hanging around and an owl charm to go with the Smart Owl digi from Robins Fetish.
I haven't 3D-ed the owl this time as I thought there was enough layers for a box but I have Glossed over his eyes (or glasses) again. They show up a bit more this time because it's not quite dry!  That's it I think, now it's over to you to come and join in. Our Sponsors this time are Robyns Fetish and Digital Delights! I'm quite chuffed to find out my last weeks card was one of the top three over on  Creative Fingers! (Thank you Kitty for pointing that out!) I hope to add this card box to some...

Quirky Pile It High., Layer it Up and 3D tooo!!!!

The new challenge over on Quirky Craft's Challenge blog has started. It's my turn to set the theme  and I have chosen my favourite thing which is, as the title suggests...
Pile It High, Layer It Up and 3D !!
There's some really great 3D crafters out there so I do hope you'll all come and join in! Our sponsors this fortnight are   Robyn's Fetish and Digital Delights  so we'll have some lovely prizes for our top three!
Here's my creation, I've used the Smart Owl from Robin's Fetish.
I started off by layering  the blank card with red and black card, then layered  up some freebie school words with red and while I was hunting for them I found some number and word papers, which I downloaded from Crafts Beautiful magazine years ago. (2007!) Couldn't fit the numbers paper on this time but thought the toppers (class and notebook tags and the paper ribbon and larger tags) would go well instead. I'll try and find room for the number papers next week.
Inside are some 'appple papers' which I'm sure came from ScrapbookWow round about the same time. I've saved them as TBLA_SourApples_Mini_paper 1 for anyone who wants to know!
For the topper, I printed out four owls, after playing with them in Word adding the yellow square of colour behind one of them, (the yellow you can see behind the Owl was made on the compute) I printed them out and coloured all the owls with ProMarkers and then set about cutting them up! I then curved them by just rubbing them in my palm with my fingers and used Gel glue to fix them all together. . So I have one whole owl on the first layer, the second owl is minus his feet, the tag on his hat and that tiny dot of his glasses, the third layer is the same plus missing a wing, there was a fourth layer (just the head) but decided not to use it.
You can't really see it here but the Owl's glasses are covered with Glossy Accents too.
I then added the ABC and Pencil buttons and the apple brad. The sentiment was made on the computer, it's just a black background (like a blackboard) with the writing done in white.
The font I used is a freebie, it's called 'Airplanes in the nightsky' and you can download it HERE or just Google the name. That's it I think!! Thank you to new followers using the old blog way and the new, hi and a big (((wave))) to Desire Fourie! and Doing Life! Fabulous blog so pop over and see. This week Desire is a guest  designer over on Quirky Crafts!
Sorry I'm not blogging as much as I was, my stats have gone down to zilch! from 30 to 300+ oh well never mind~ I've just been soooo busy with other projects!  And if I have  time I hope to add this to some ...

This Week's Wednesday Digi! CLOSED

I left the house about half seven this morning and only got back a little while ago. I've been busy walking doggies (or trying to stop them from being blown away in the storms) and baby sitting!!
Last week we did, how to crawl up the stairs.... (this is the baby, not the dogs) and today we learnt how to climb down the stairs.. about a hundred and ninety five times!! (I'm pooped!) Anyway, this little pup is a bit wobbly around the edges as I still haven't replaced my pen... I can't find the one I want. A comment would be most welcome! Thank you for stopping by!!
CLOSED (Might be in the store with a little alteration later)

Quirky reminder: My 2014 Wishes...

Well.... at this moment in time, I wish it would stop raining!! Honestly, two months of rain!? It's definitely a record! But we're soooo Quirky in England I bet by June they'll be telling us there's a hose-pipe ban!
I'm here again to remind you  all about Quirky Craft's latest Challenge, Your Wishes for 2014.
I'm sooo busy I've had to do another cheat. I still had last weeks digi images saved as a scene on my computer and seeing getting my house in order, (it's always messy!) and getting a van (or an estate car) and making my Dog Walking and Pet Sitting business grow, is all that's on my mind at the moment, I've had to go with that again... (Although I would really love to get to the USA this year to see my daughter and grandson)
Anyway, seeing it's just been non-stop rain, this time I've added a Squigglyfly  digital image to my scene, Sam's Rainy Day, along with the rainy sentiment, and they also have a 'Use Red And Pink' Challenge going on... and a freebie A Mound of Chocolate digi!   so go and join in with that too!
I don't really mind the rain but it's the 90 mile an hour winds that get to me!! (No wonder I have a cold!)
I took out the Bugaboo AKV House, (see last weeks card) it was a bit too crowded with that in the background as well but added more dogs ((from Bugaboo) Pretty Puppy, who's inside the car and Puppy Love-wagtail and of course kept the attitude car and the fluffy clouds backing paper (PinkPetticoat) I've added my own cloud, some brads, a plastic 'flower' and once again those freebie wonky strippy papers from last weeks make!
That's it for now, I'm not here again, sorry there's not much blogging going on. The weeks seem to be made up of Wednesday Freebies and Sunday reminders, hopefully once I get organised I'll be able to blog more! If I have time I'd love to enter this into some....

Freebie Wonkie Strippy Paper

Here's some freebie wonky stripes, which I used on the cards above....or below.... I just used the same colour Promarkers as I used on the card. Gold, Grass and Poppy. Hope you find them useful. Why not have a go at making your own! Just click and save to your computer!

Quirky Wishes for 2014

I'm a bit late tonight with my post as I'm really stuffed up with cold, and everytime I sneeze ...welll, you don't really want to know!! It's that Quirky Craft's time again. It's Gemma's turn to set the theme and she has chosen...
Wishes For 2014
We're sponsored by Bugaboo and Sqigglyfly
I have many wishes for this year, one is to visit my daughter and grandson in USA, another is to repair the pond....it leaks, another, apart for winning the lottery, is to sort out my house and garden as I've been a bit lapse  for quite a while, after spending ages piainting the fences, the shed and the little bridge in a nice soft green. Another wish is to get a nice little van or car to advertise my little Dog Walking and Pet Sitting business. So I've used four digi's from one of our sponsors. Bugaboo and made two cards almost the same.

Both cards have started off with Pinkpetticoat clouds with the digis printed over them  and inside some thin stripes. The outside stripes I made myself and you'll find them in the post below or above this one. Here  I just made wiggly stripes using the colours I'd used on the card.
I've 3D-ed the house in one of the cards and the car and the house in the other. One of the cars has dogs on and in it too. There's also a bit of paws and bones embossing. (My newest folder that jumped in to my basket coz it was a little cheaper than it should've been)
The map was cut from a free booklet which came with a newspaper. I've cut out the bit where I live. Everything was edged in black but I ran out so some of it is paper and some of it is paper coloured with a black Promarker. (Sssh! no one will notice!)
One of the cards has a sentiment. The font I used is called Curlz MT it's the same font I used on my business cards. Google the name, some sites do charge but it can be found as a freebie.
That's my wishes for this year....although I wouldn't mind being thinner... but walking dogs does keep you fit!
Well, that's it, I'm off to bed with a hot toddy ...I've sneezed myself through this post, hope there's no way you can catch my cold via the internet! It gives a whole new meaning to a computer virus... or debugging! and Blogger is being a bit odd tonight and things keep disappearing!
Don't forget to stop by Quirky Crafts and join in!  Thank you for stopping by!
