Another Not So Quirky Challenge? yeS!

It's Quirky time again and my turn to set the theme, and as I'm never here and always soooo busy and there's never enough days in the week these days I thought I'd choose some thing very easy for this challenge...Something beginning with...
S
So.... here's my DT card. We have three sponsors this time. Bugaboo, Crafty Ribbons and Robin's Fetish!
This weeks Freebie over on Bugaboo is a frog playing on the beach in sand...and JJ Sewing Needles, so go and grab them and join in!!
I've used two digi's from Bugaboo. One I already had (Deacon Swing) and the other (Ava Swing) was supplied especially for the challenge! Get it? S for Swing...There's a few more...Stripes, shoes, a screw brad, string, silver, sunflowers, (well....they're yellow!) and.... the pale blue back ground behind the swings  (PinkPetticoat) has tiny stars on it. There's also some mock stitching, swirls, some Stickles glitter and I've used silicone glue!
I started off using black card on a blank white 8x8 card and then just built it all up.
I've 3D-ed the digi's; the little girl a little more than the little boy. (Which means... there's a shadow....does that count?? maybe not!)
The papers I made myself, see post below if you want them, or make your own, just stripe up some paper with your ProMarkers. (They aren't so bright once printed out)
In side I've made the Sentiment, pop out and added a few  of my own flowers plus another Deacon on a swing!
The font... (it's the same one inside as well as outside, the inside one has just been made in WordArt) Now, I can't link fonts any more (something to do with Google)but if you want to hunt it out, it's called GrilledCheese BTN on most sites it's a freebie.
I think that's it! Don't forget to come and join in, you have two whole weeks so there's loads of time... Thank you for stopping by! Hoping to add some...

Quirky Reminder To Mix Up Your Mayhem Media...

Happy Easter every one! Time to remind you all about Quirky Craft's Mixed Media Mayhem challenge, which still has another week to run, so plenty of time to join in.
I used this little flower girl from Squigglyfly and had another go at playing with my three colours of Cosmic Shimmer Mist, plus a dark blue metallic ink brush-pen that I flicked all over it as well as run a few marbles across it, so it made a nice splattery mess! (all this was done in a shoe box)
As I said last week, right out of my comfort zone... I'd much rather use backing papers! (I did scan in the finished sheet, so I can use it again...only it'll be nice and clean!) I added the splattered paper to a pink card that fades to white and then goes a darker pink, then made flowers out of what was left of the splattered paper.
The digi has been 3D-ed, coloured with Promakers with a few highlights from the metallic ink brush-pen.(which I quite like and will use again) and some messy finger prints too....but they're not supposed to be there!
The font I used is called Heather BTN. Now, I'm NOT going to link it as I had an email from one of the many font sites I link saying that 'our analysis was showing that it was hurting our site's PageRank on Google' . So I had to take them all off going right back to the beginning of the blog. Still haven't worked out what it all means, I thought that's what Google is and does, a link to everyone and everything! So if you like the font.... go Google the name. It's free on most sites but a few charge. That's it! I'm not here...probably scoffng Easter Eggs... feeling a bit better... but then again, I'd have to be very ill not to be able to eat chocolate!! Thank you for stopping by!

Just click on the picture and save to your computer...

It's Quirky Mixed Media Mayhem Time!

It's time for some more Messy Quirkyness over on the Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog. This time Gemma has chosen the theme...
 Mixed Media Mayhem
Right out of my comfort zone as I never quite know what to do for 'mixed media' although I did leave my craft room in 'mayhem!'
I used this lovely Shih Tsu digi from our sponsors Squigglefly and sprayed all the papers you see and some pearl card with Cosmic Shimmer Mist, in pinks and blues, mainly because it's not too messy ( I use an old shoe box) and the owners of the little mummy Shhih Tsu doesn't know how many puppies she'll have or if they'll be boys or girls yet!
Last time one of her little doggies had six adorable puppies~ and that's also the name of the font I used. AdorableThis time it's one of those puppies having puppies! On the front of the card I added some doggy brads, doggy paws, using a punch. The sentiment printed was printed on a curve, using the computer. Inside. I've fixed more sprayed paper and five little pictures of the little Shih Tsu (carefull how you say that!) layered on black card.

There is a little bit of embossing too, but that's very hard to see. I haven't coloured the little dog at all, just left her as she comes, although I did think to coloured the collar, different colours and might do that when I know what she has! I know they'll all be mad as hatters... walking six to seven Shih Tsu's is no easy task!! They don't stop barking and evryone gets out of  the way!!
Bit of a short post as I'm not feeling very well at the moment but will be back on track as soon as poss!!  Thank you for stopping by!

A Card For Mum

Just a quickie post, this poor little card got left in draft (aw, shame) Now all the challenges I found for it have probably finished! (I'll add them later if they haven't)
I made this card for Mum, for last Sunday's Mother's Day. I was going to add more things as soon as I had ink in my printer, like a sentiment on the front- but decided it looked okay as it was, and because I was out of everything else too I thought why not use the  freebies that came with one of my Crafty Magazines. These gorgeous papers with silver embossing. So! Die cuts, little tag and papers Curtasty of  XXX.
The Silver ribbon, pink gems and pink paper flowers all came from my stash.(I think the ribbon actually came off a small chocolate box).
Inside I've used pink gingham from a 'Wild Rose Studio' gingham pack and the remains for the lovely silver embossed paper I used on the front of the card.
The Freebie font I've used inside is called Abbeyline, which I've linked loads of times so you should have that one by now!
Thank you for stopping by and thank you to all new Google + and InLink followers, sorry if I haven't been to say hello, but I still don't quite'get them' and can never seem to find you even when clicking on any link (they usually shoot off to someone or some place else!) I guess I'll figure it out one day!

A Reminder to Spice up Your Quirky Life With Colour!

Here's a Quick reminder to come and join in with Quirky Crafts 'Spice Up Your Life With Colour Girls! Challenge.' Hmm, well anyway, I'm a bit late...as I didn't want to over excite anyone by being early!  Our Sponspr this challenge is Cutting Cafe and the DT have had a few cutting files to play with, although seeing I haven't got a cutting machine I've just printed them out and cut them with these shiny things called scissors... ( and yes I promise I didn't run with them!)  I've made a gatefold card (added a bit extra in the middle as there was a gap at the front. First I covered the blank card with black and then added my faviourite colours, lilacs and purples.
All the papers are PinkPetticoat, and mostly scraps and left over bits, except the multi colours inside, which also came from our sponsors (You Colour my World) and the corner triangles I think might be Papermania.
I've added Flowers, butterflies, a tiny tag, a wee bit of flower ribbon, and a metal handbag. The little butterflies on the front were a sort of orange, so  I coloured them with a purple Promaker. Much better!
Inside I've made a little place where you can add birthday money so who ever recieves the card can 'Shop til they drop.'
There's also more images from our Sponsors, as well a few bits from my stash.
I've cut the card down a little bit so the multi coloured square fitted snuggly. Everything is layered up with black card as well.
That's it! come and join in, we already have some lovely girlie entries! Thank you for stopping by! A belated Mother's card coming up next.
I hope to add this to a few ...

This Weeks Wednesday Digi CLOSED

Something a little different this week, a Spyder's Corner Shop. Hope it works, the idea is you can print it straight onto card and colour it in, or print in onto some good paper then colour it in and then stick it on card...and fold it in half to make a tent card. Here's one I made earlier!

Happy Belated Birthday Bro!

It was my brother Michael's birthday on Friday, I won't tell you how old he was) I didn't forget, honest! The card was made on time but I couldn't give it to him til Sunday....not that he ever looks in here- he's not a computer geek at all! He likes bikes, but he's already had a bike card...
Anyway, I made everything and then suddenly realised, (at that time) I still didn't have any ink in my printer and couldn't print out the digi I wanted, so rummaged through my messy craft room to find something already printed out and small enough to fit on the front. (It was going to be a bugaboo car, but the one I found was too big)
Never mind, it's the thought that counts! And I had so many of them as I went through boxes of bits of printouts- sometimes I think I should throw them out, but they do come in handy!
This Bugaboo digi has been sitting on my living room dresser since Christmas! (I'm not a great believer in dusting... not when there's glue-ing to do!) It was just the right size, had a birthday cake and the sentiment was with it too. Perfect. Although the car would've been better.(But then the car has flowers on it...)
I'm sure the all papers were a freebie 6x6 pack from Simply Cards and PaperCraft Magazine ages ago. (Yep, 2012 Issue 92-.it's called TRAVELlight by We R Memory Keepers... how clever of me to write it on the back!) I've also used DieCuts, plus some screws, hammer and spanner brads and cut out the Happy Birthday Bro with my Quickutz thingy. There's about eight layers altogether if you count the black card too- or four if you don't.
The font on the right is called Ackident it's a freebie download HERE (I've linked it tons of times) There's also a bit of Stickles Glitter glue too. Not my usual colours but they all go so well. That's it I think, thank you for stopping by!
