WOYWW # 142...

I was going to be very clever, knowing I'd be well late this week, and start my 'What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday', with pictures from earlier in the week, (I know that's cheating) of before I tidied up my craft room and finish up today, with how it looked 'after' I'd waved my magic wand, showing you a very clear and fabulously tidy bench with a few random makes for today's blog hop at Julia's Stamping Ground... but building up to John's mum's funeral, which was yesterday ~I'd like to think I was being optimistic and positive~well, of course that didn't happen. So for once this is my desk now, this moment in time.
We had a good day yesterday if that's the right word, full of very highs and very lows. Thanks to little Pam, who's in her eighties the flowers once again were amazing, June would have loved them. Now I hate to be morbid, no one likes that...so!! In the two pictures above, who can spot the one thing I swapped?
Freebie is going to be a little late this morning, but it will be here. So I'd better go and draw it!
Thanks for stopping by.

So sorry, some of your earlier comments were deleted by mistake... I pressed the wrong button!

  1. Hi Lyn...yellow sticky notes for a punch...I think that's what you swapped...and as I have omly just arrived I have not been erased..lol..
We just had my uncles funeral, and know exactly what you mean about highs and lows...some of the speeches, you could say, had us in stiches of laughter and then we applauded, couldn't help it, some people just know what and how to say things...

  4. I am glad that the funeral went as well as possible. Lovely busy desk this week...the thing that has changed is the swirl (present in the top picture and absent in the bottom!).

  7. It looks like the little blue heart punch is missing, and the yellow flower punch is either missing or upside down. Love those spot the difference things, thanks for some fun.

  8. Sorry about John's mom, Lyn. But I admit, I spent way too much time looking at both photos and the only thing I saw different was a pink handle in the bottom photo (far right side middle) that I didn't see in the first photo. Happy WOYWW from #9.

  10. You have a perfectly good excuse for not having got around with that magic wand.
Have a rest and a sit down with a cuppa, you deserve it.

  13. Sorry for your loss. Funerals are always a bit sad but so worth that to honour and celebrate a persons life.
The highs and lows sort of balance don't they...and you are left with that nice sort of feeling that you gave them a good send off!

  19. It sounds like the funeral went well. Think of it as a gathering to honor your loved one. Flowers do add something. You get a pass this week - for not clearing up your desk. Sometimes a messy desk is the perfect thing! Sit down, have a cup of tea and just run your fingers through all your craft things.

  25. we kid ourselves about all sorts of things so why should our plans to be tidy be any different?

    apart from you will definitely lose the little scissors, for sure, in the landslide that is about to happen across right of desk to left of desk as we desk hoppers look at it;

you are not morbid, you are full of life, grieving has it's place in our lives right up alongside the celebrations,

    take care

You do get the coconut for the best mess of the week and you should be proud of it.
Keep smiling and you'll get there,
