Forever Baby Blues

Got# some njew rea~ding g£l@sses yest=erday, s+o of course I= can't see. (H@ng on. I'll just= put my? old ones b@ck on!) That's better! I've bought a few baby things to send off to the States for Maria's baby due sometime in September. So made this little card yesterday to go in with them. I was given a few of these Forever Friends stamped images by a forum buddy and liked it so much I just had to buy it. I had the idea of making little invites for her baby shower she's having some time soon, but (sigh) won't be able to go to that, still, we will be going September /October when he's due, so not long to wait now. She rang Sunday and said, "Just ringing you to see if Jesse's mobile phone still works (reaches England) while we're driving in the car, just in case I pop!"
"Ring on skype!" sez me.
"We've driving Mum, I'll ring back later!" And that was that. So I was remembering the morning she was born, we'd had a few practice runs too and decided, because Emma had been breech, we'd had hours and hours and hours and hours... so weren't in any rush... hmmm. We dropped Emma off (then 20 months) at her Grans about 5.30 in the morning, then headed for the little Nursing Home (which of course was later closed down) when John suddenly stopped the car and turned round. "What? What?" said me, frantically. "Forgot something," said he, "What?" I was sure I had everything. "The Camera!" said John, and back we went. I'm telling you now, if man had the babies, there is no way on this earth he would suddenly turn round and go back for a camera! Maria-Louise was born just over an hour later. And in those first few moments we knew. This was the one who would dye her hair green (she dyed it red) This was the one who will most likely have a tattoo (she has a couple of little ones) and this is the one that will leave home and marry a Texan... well... Jesse's American. He'd look good in a ten gallon hat! And so life's circle is complete...
I've entered this card in the The Forever Friend Challenge blog (All Wrapped Up) as it's not a birthday card or any card really,' just a note to say...' and (in the tiny envelope) 'Sending you Hugs'. I used my ProMarkers to colour the little bear and also the envelope. Just scribbled on some card, so I would have the same blue and punched it out using a Woodward punch, (which I was lucky to get at half price at my local, {not very crafty} shop!) The oval is also a Woodward punch. Later I added a few gems. The paper was a freebie from ScrapGirls ages ago. It's called Creative Express. I wanted to use a nice pale blue gingham but had this already printed. Maybe I'll get to make some Baby Shower invites... next time!
