Printing on Ribbon

I've been blog hopping...should be ironing, doing the washing, dusting, hoovering, or in my case miele-ing, but that can wait...(no one will notice) Pop along to Blue Jelly Too and see how you can print on ribbon. I've done the wording before, but not thought of printing patterns. I've just done it, it works, but make sure it's nice and flat or you might get smudges of black ink. I'm just going to finished this card and then I'll be back to post a picture. Back Later!!

I printed some ribbon and added it to the inside of my Warren Rabbit Shaker card. The ribbon is a bit frilly, so there was a little bleeding from the black ink at the end, but only a little bit. A nice smooth ribbon should work better. It's probably a bit hard to see, but there's lots of little bunnies printed on to it! So Cute!

  1. thanks so much for the tip! I am not sure if my inkjet printer might work as its always bleed whenever it get contact with water =(

But I think I'll give it a try! Do you think its alright to use scotch tape to tape down the ribbon (tape the ends on the other side of paper)?

  6. Hi Esther! The ribbon needs to be flat, try it and see! I couldn't find my low tack tape, so used photo glue instead! I'm so impatient! (it peels off quite easily) but I used a frilly ribbon, a straight edged ribbon would be better. If your printer 'bleeds' try spraying with a cheap hair spray~ sort of spray the air and let it drift over it, or, what paper are you using, proper printer paper, not the thin fax copier paper.

    PS Thank you Jackie!!

  7. Thanks lyn! Its work! I have yet to try the hairspray, but i will if I can have my hand on it, since it does bleed when contact with water. =)

  8. Looking forward to seeing the printed ribbon Lyn, daren't try that on our printer as it jams if I try to print on card or heavy paper :( Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog about the song thrush. We were surprised to see it and hope it becomes a regular visitor.
